TPD to provide live data at four South African racecourses
Total Performance Data (TPD) has signed an agreement with Race Coast to provide live racing data services at four South African Hollywoodbets racecourses.
Race Coast said Kenilworth, Durbanville, Greyville and Scottsville are expected to be live and fully operational later this year.
TPD will provide real-time GPS tracking, sectional timing, fan insights and performance data at the tracks in the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal. The information is intended to support race analysis and could lay groundwork for future in-running betting products using TPD’s real-time positional data and AI models.
The four courses host major South African fixtures including the Durban July at Greyville, as well as the Hollywoodbets Gold Challenge, L’Ormarins King’s Plate and WSB Cape Town Met.
“Our new partnership with Race Coast marks an important step forward in the evolution of South African racing data and another important milestone for TPD,” TPD’s Director of Racing Partnerships Adam Moore said.
“Together, we will unlock new opportunities for broadcasters, bookmakers, analysts, racing professionals and fans alike, all powered by the rich race insights that real-time tracking data will provide.”
TPD said the agreement adds 160 racedays a year to its live data coverage.
“Race Coast is committed to continually improving the quality of our racing product and ensuring that we keep pace with developments across the international racing industry,” Race Coast’s Chief Operating Officer Dean Sawarjith said.
“Our partnership with TPD builds on tracking and sectional timing capabilities already in place across our racecourses, while giving us access to richer data, enhanced analytics and new opportunities around broadcasting, fan engagement and wagering.”
