Durbanville racing tips

Our Hollywoodbets Durbanville tips, form and preview focus on Wednesday’s eight-race card, where Justin Snaith and Dean Kannemeyer look set to play leading roles.

Snaith could make an immediate impact with African Kingfisher in Race 1. The filly was narrowly beaten by subsequent winner Georgie Girl last month and looks well placed to shed her maiden tag over 1000m. Stablemate Rain In France is another promising contender in Race 2, having been gelded since an encouraging debut. He should appreciate the step up to 1400m and has a favourable draw.

Kannemeyer has several winning prospects, notably One Dawn in Race 4 and Time Of Our Lives in Race 7. The latter impressed when winning his maiden over the course and distance and could follow up in Class 5 company. Soho Heartthrob appeals as one of the better bets in Race 5 after an impressive victory at Durbanville earlier this month.

Race 6 looks particularly difficult, with Black Cheetah and Churchillian renewing their rivalry in a competitive sprint. One Liner and Kattekwaadkwasraad are also serious contenders. The finale presents another interesting contest, with Born To Master, Cedar Point and Scottish Links all holding strong claims over 2000m.

Below is our free form analysis and racing tips for all eight races at Hollywoodbets Durbanville on Wednesday, October 21, 2026.

Race 1

Hollywoodbets Durbanville Welcomes You Maiden Plate (F & M) (Turf)

AFRICAN KINGFISHER (3) looks difficult to oppose after narrowly failing to catch GEORGIE GIRL at Durbanville on September 23. That form has subsequently been franked and, with a favourable draw over the shorter 1000m trip, she gets an excellent opportunity to open her winning account. PEACH COBBLER (8) returns from a 70-day break, having finished runner-up to VIRIDIAN RUBY in August. She has shown enough ability to be competitive if sufficiently forward for her return. KIM CHANEL (6) was not disgraced behind CAPTAIN’S ELECT last time despite having to overcome a difficult draw. She is an honest performer who should again be capable of finishing among the places. EBURY STREET (9) is an interesting newcomer with an appealing pedigree and Keagan de Melo booked for the ride. Any significant market support would be worth noting.

Our tip: 3-8-6-9

Race 2

Rcs Two Year Old Sale 24 October Maiden Plate

RAIN IN FRANCE (4) made an encouraging debut when finishing strongly for fourth behind ILE MORIS despite racing greenly and losing ground at the start. He has subsequently been rested and gelded, while the step up to 1400m should suit him considerably better. From a favourable draw, he looks a leading winning prospect for Justin Snaith. DARK PASSENGER (1) also shaped promisingly on debut, making good late progress to finish third behind BRIGHT FATE. The benefit of that experience and an inside draw should make him a serious challenger. AT IT AGAIN (3) and NORTHMAN (11) are both well-bred newcomers who could have a say in proceedings. With limited exposed form among the opposition, the betting market should provide a useful indication of their respective chances.

Our tip: 4-1-3-11

Race 3

Lucky Fish Lucky Break Maiden Plate

NAVIGATION (10) returns from a break after being gelded and could prove difficult to beat if overcoming his wide draw. He showed considerable promise when finishing just over two lengths behind COAST OF THE SUN at Hollywoodbets Greyville in May and looks the type to improve with experience. ONE SPIRIT (7) has not raced for 198 days but showed ability when finishing third behind EARN THE WEEKEND at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth in April. He should be competitive if ready to produce his best form first up. PARADOU (5) finished just over six lengths behind BIG CITY ROLLER on debut and should benefit from that initial experience. The step up to 1400m and the booking of Richard Fourie are additional positives. FLINKDINK (2) was beaten six lengths by BRIGHT FATE last time but remains open to improvement over this longer distance and could get into the places.

Our tip: 10-7-5-2

Race 4

Gallop TV Maiden Plate (F & M)

ONE DAWN (11) has shown plenty of promise in her two starts and should appreciate stepping up to 1400m. She finished strongly for third behind CAPTAIN’S ELECT last time and looks capable of making further improvement. The wide draw is an obvious concern, but she should be finishing strongly if finding a clear passage. SPURIOUS (10) brings consistent recent form into the contest, including an excellent effort behind CHINWAG on September 2. She looks a major winning contender and should be included in all exotic bets. JANE AUSTEN (12) continues to progress and showed determination when finishing second behind FUTURE ENGAGEMENT earlier this month. She also faces a difficult draw but has the ability to challenge. VIRGINIA BLUEBELL (9) could provide some value after producing an encouraging performance from a poor draw on her return from a four-month break. She should strip considerably fitter and cannot be overlooked.

Our tip: 11-10-12-9

Race 5

Bet With Tote www.tote.co.za B Stakes

SOHO HEARTTHROB (3) appeals as one of the better bets on the card after an impressive victory at Hollywoodbets Durbanville on October 7. He is expected to settle just behind the early pace before producing his finishing burst, and Craig Zackey knows the gelding particularly well. On current form, he should prove difficult to beat. BILLY BOWLEGS (4) drops in distance after finishing well behind MIAMI SUMMER in the Listed Settlers Trophy. He has also received further relief from the handicapper and could be competitive in this small field. WITCH HAZEL (1) was beaten just over two lengths by BLACK CHEETAH in September and has the advantage of a good draw. His ability to see out 1600m remains a question, but he has place prospects if staying the trip. IT IS MY TIME (5) has continued to drop in the ratings and looks the best of the remaining runners.

Our tip: 3-4-1-5

Race 6

Follow Gallop TV On Social Media B Stakes

BLACK CHEETAH (8) produced an impressive turn of foot to win at Hollywoodbets Durbanville on September 6 and remains a leading contender despite receiving a four-point increase in the ratings. His wide draw complicates matters, but another bold performance is expected. CHURCHILLIAN (4) returns from a 70-day break and has strong claims on his victory over BLACK CHEETAH when the pair met in August. He is highly regarded by his stable and should be competitive if sufficiently fit. ONE LINER (6) was desperately unlucky not to catch LYRICAL GANGSTER last time, finishing strongly for second after making up considerable ground late. A clear passage could see him go one better. KATTEKWAADKWADRAAD (5) finished just behind ONE LINER on September 26 when returning from a seven-month absence. She should improve significantly for that outing and has a particularly attractive weight, making her another serious contender in a difficult race.

Our tip: 8-4-6-5

Race 7

Lucky Fish Winning Streak Class 5 (Class 5)

TIME OF OUR LIVES (4) made an excellent impression when winning his maiden at Hollywoodbets Durbanville on September 23 and looks capable of following up. He showed a good turn of foot to win decisively over the course and distance and now finds himself in a suitable Class 5 contest. A favourable draw adds to his appeal. SHIFTING PATH (3) is holding his form particularly well and finished strongly for second behind BOLERO earlier this month. He has a light weight and should again be involved in the finish. DREAM TRIP (7) was an impressive maiden winner in June and returns from a 120-day break. She remains lightly raced and has considerable scope for improvement, making her a major danger if ready to produce her best. CROWN CHASER (5) created a favourable impression when winning on debut at big odds. She has not raced for 95 days but remains an exciting prospect and should be included in exotic bets.

Our tip: 4-3-7-5

Race 8

Hollywoodbets Bright Future C Stakes

BORN TO MASTER (7) was unfortunate not to win when finishing powerfully for second behind FORT LIAM on September 16. He has an attractive weight and could reverse that result if positioned closer to the pace before making his challenge. CEDAR POINT (5) arrives in excellent form after winning under a well-judged Richard Fourie ride last time. The step up to 2000m should suit him and the Justin Snaith-trained runner looks capable of following up. SCOTTISH LINKS (10) was an impressive winner on September 23 and has previously shown form suggesting the longer distance will not present a problem. He needs to settle early but could be competitive at attractive odds. PHANTOM MAN (1) also comes into the race following a good victory at Hollywoodbets Durbanville on September 6. He has the benefit of an inside draw and should be given every opportunity to feature prominently in the finish.
