Coolbet plans job cuts as B2B business struggles
Online gambling operator Coolbet has launched a redundancy consultation affecting 131 positions at its headquarters in Tallinn, Estonia, following weaker-than-expected performance in its business-to-business operations.
The proposed restructuring affects employees of VG Estonia OÜ, the company’s Estonian operating entity, with Coolbet’s CEO Tomas Graham confirming the plans to various industry publications.
Coolbet employs more than 360 people in Estonia, meaning the proposed reductions could affect over one-third of its local workforce.
The operator attributed the restructuring to weaker B2B results, increasing regulatory requirements and higher taxation across several markets.
Most affected positions are understood to be within development, technology and B2B operations, although customer support roles could also be impacted.
Graham said the changes were necessary to adapt the business to current market conditions.
“The restructuring reflects the need to adapt our operations to current business realities and changing market conditions,” he said.
Coolbet became part of Japanese gaming group Sega Sammy following its acquisition of GAN in 2025.
The company said its headquarters would remain in Tallinn and that Estonia continued to represent an important market for its consumer-facing gambling business.
The proposed redundancies have not yet been finalised.
