USA v Poland predictions: Team USA suffered a real letdown in their classification play-off match against Serbia.
Less than 24 hours earlier they had been knocked out of the race for a medal with a defeat by France and it showed against the Serbs as they fell behind 32-7 at the first break.
To be fair some of that was down to the Serbs’ incredible long-range shooting as Bogdan Bogdanovic and co put them to the sword. But a large part of the blame must lie with the Americans’ sluggish play. They did not defend well, with little hustle or pressure, allowed easy transition, and could not make a shot at the offensive end.
To the players’ credit they got themselves back into the game, although their efforts were inevitable in vain.
We think after a day to let these results sink in they will want to put on a show against Poland, who themselves were well beaten in their match against the Czechs.
Poland have had a good tournament, with Mateusz Ponitka really emerging as a star player on the world stage. But unfortunately for them they might run into a rampant USA with a point to prove in their World Cup finale.

Serbia v Czech Republic predictions: Despite their win against the USA on Thursday, Serbia will leave China with a feeling of expectations unfulfilled. They came here as second favourites for the title but were well beaten by the strong Spain and Argentina sides.
Nonetheless they have been a dazzling side to watch at times, with Bogdan Bogdanovic one of the stars of the tournament.
Both these teams managed to get up for their first classification matches, and there is no reason they won’t do the same here.
The defensive intensity all round seems to drop for these sorts of play-offs and for this reason we like the look of the overs on the match total set at 172.5 by sportsbooks.
The handicap line of 11.5 seems about right, so we will play a little more conservatively than we might have.

Serbia v Czech Republic best bet:
Visit leading bookie William Hill or check out another of our preferred international bookies, and combine Serbia to win with match total over 172.5 points at around $2.25.
