Australia v Senegal

Tip-off: 15:30 local time (GMT+8)
Head to head odds: Australia 1.01, Senegal 34.00
Venue: Dongguan Basketball Center
Australia v Senegal predictions: Australia will have too much clout in this one for Senegal, who are ranked 26 spots below the Boomers in the rankings. The Boomers were impressive but patchy in their opening clash against Canada, but were led superbly by veteran guard Matthew Dellavedova. We think Patty Mills will light it up in the second contest, while also look to youngster Jock Landale to continue his superb International form. We think the 35.5 line is too long and expect Senegal to be closer than that, with Senegal at the line paying $1.87 at leading betting sites.

Montenegro v New Zealand

Tip-off: 16:00 local time (GMT+8)
Head to head odds: Montenegro 1.53, New Zealand 2.37
Venue: Gymnasium of Youth Olympic Games Sport Park, Nanjing
Montenegro v New Zealand predictions: The Tall Blacks must defeat Montenegro to have any chance of advancing out of Group F following their gutsy loss to Brazil in their opening game. The Tall Blacks have played in four successive knockout stages at the FIBA World Cup, but face the daunting task of must-win clashes against Montenegro and Greece. Unfortunately for the Tall Blacks we think Montenegro will have their measure, but we fully expect another fighting loss.

Japan v Czech Republic

Tip-off: 16:30 local time (GMT+8)
Head to head odds: Japan 3.50, Czech Republic 1.25
Venue: Shanghai Oriental Sports Center
Japan v Czech Republic predictions: Czech Republic are short-priced favourites to defeat Japan, but we actually believe this match is much closer than the quote offered by betting sites. The Czechs were rocked by the pre-tournament withdrawal of Jan Vesely and we think too much might be left to Tomas Satoransky. The Czechs were easily outpointed by Team USA in their opening clash, while Turkey dished Japan out a thrashing. You can back Japan to win at 3.50 with most betting sites, while with a 7.5-point start you can get 1.87. For the record we think neither of these teams will progress through this tough group.

Germany v Dominican Republic

Tip-off: 16:30 local time (GMT+8)
Head to head odds: Germany 1.02, Dominican Republic 11.00
Venue: Shenzhen Bay Sports Center
Germany v Dominican Republic predictions: Germany are unbackable favourites to win this clash against the Dominican Republic and we think the odds-makers have it right on this occasion.

Lithuania v Canada

Tip-off: 19:30 local time (GMT+8)
Head to head odds: Lithuania 1.30, Canada 3.20
Venue: Dongguan Basketball Center
Lithuania v Canada predictions: Canada’s World Cup hopes will go on the line when they take on European power Lithuania, after their first-up loss to the Boomers. While we’d love to say we think Canada can win this game, we just don’t think they have the same level of talent.

Brazil v Greece

Tip-off: 20:00 local time (GMT+8)
Head to head odds: Brazil 5.50, Greece 1.12
Venue: Gymnasium of Youth Olympic Games Sport Park, Nanjing
Brazil v Greece predictions: Expect the Greeks to come out firing in this one as they can guarantee their path through the group stages with a victory.

USA v Turkey

Tip-off: 20:30 local time (GMT+8)
Head to head odds: USA 1.01, Turkey 13.00
Venue: Shanghai Oriental Sports Center
USA v Turkey predictions: While Team USA’s form was patchy at best in their warm-up games, you can almost guarantee they will improve as the tournament goes on and we should learn a bit more about them after this clash. Undoubtedly they have the most depth, something Turkey lack, and we think the 21.5-point moneyline at 1.87 is well worth considering.

Jordan v France

Tip-off: 20:30 local time (GMT+8)
Head to head odds: Jordan 34.00, France 1.01
Venue: Shenzhen Bay Sports Center
Jordan v France predictions: So many of these group games are predictable, and we just can’t see Jordan having any tricks that will worry the French. Some betting sites are even that confident in a French victory they have suspended betting on the European team.
