France v Australia predictions: It seems like months ago ago that these teams met in this tournament, rather than just less than a week.
Since then France have sent Team USA packing from the tournament only to fall to the impressive Argentina, while Australia have beaten the Czech Republic and then fallen agonisingly short against their nemesis Spain.
Who can bounce back best from the travails of Friday will be key in deciding the outcome here. Because when they met last week, there was so little between the teams.
The French boast an incredibly tall starting line-up but it has been their guards who have done much of the damage. Evan Fournier and Nando De Colo are averaging 20 and 16 points respectively and really are a menacing duo at the offensive end. They set up things up while the towering Rudy Gobert rules the roost around the paint.
Australia have an even more dominant guard in Patty Mills, who has raised his game to another level in this tournament and must be high in voting for the MVP award for this tournament. Mills is the leading scorer in this tournament averaging almost 24 points a game and it was noticeable that when Spain focused their efforts on him on Friday night, the Boomers’ struggled to score.
Both teams had been shooting the ball superbly until Friday night but their three-point percentages were way down.
We feel as though this match is pretty much a 50-50 contest so we will lean towards Australia as the better value at the odds set by sportsbooks.

Best bet: Australia to win at $2.10.
