Games Global set for West Virginia entry
Online casino content supplier Games Global has received regulatory approval to enter West Virginia’s online gambling market, expanding its presence to five US states where real-money online casino gaming is permitted.
The approval from the West Virginia Lottery Commission allows the supplier to introduce its casino game portfolio to licensed operators in the state, including titles from its Gold Blitz, Masks of Fire and Thunderstruck franchises.
West Virginia becomes the fifth US jurisdiction to approve Games Global, following Connecticut, Michigan, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
The expansion gives the supplier access to another established regulated online casino market as it continues to develop distribution agreements with US gambling sites.
Games Global chief commercial officer Mark MacCombie described the approval as another important stage in the company’s North American expansion.
“West Virginia represents our fifth US iGaming state entry,” MacCombie said, adding that the supplier intended to work closely with operators to deliver games suited to American players.
The approval is particularly significant because US online casino regulation remains fragmented, with suppliers generally required to satisfy licensing or approval requirements in individual jurisdictions rather than operating under a single national authorisation.
West Virginia is among the relatively small number of American states permitting regulated online casino gambling, alongside markets such as New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Connecticut.
While sports betting is legal across a much larger number of states, online casino games remain subject to more restrictive state-level legislation.
For Games Global, entering West Virginia creates additional distribution opportunities for its network of game development studios and established slot franchises.
The supplier has not yet announced which West Virginia operators will be first to introduce its games or provided a timetable for individual title launches.
