GGPoker opens WSOP Circuit Calgary Main Event satellites
Canadian poker players can now qualify online for the C$2,300 WSOP Circuit Calgary Main Event, with GGPoker launching exclusive daily satellites ahead of the festival later this month.
The WSOP Circuit returns to Calgary’s Deerfoot Inn & Casino from September 30 to October 12, with 18 gold ring events scheduled across the 13-day festival.
The centrepiece is the C$2,300 No-Limit Hold’em Main Event, which begins on October 8 and features three opening flights running through October 10.

Rather than paying the full Main Event entry, Canadian players can now attempt to win their seats online through GGPoker.
Satellites are running daily in the GGPoker tournament lobby, while players located in Ontario have an additional route through exclusive freeroll qualifiers.
Players who qualify for Calgary through GGPoker will also receive GGPoker merchandise and additional benefits when they arrive at the live event.

GGPoker qualifiers coming off huge Playground results
The Calgary satellites come immediately after GGPoker sent more than 500 qualifiers into the WSOP Super Circuit Canada Main Event at Playground.
That tournament attracted 2,844 entries and generated a C$13.08 million prize pool, with 507 entries — around 18% of the field — coming through GGPoker satellites.
Two of those qualifiers, Jonathan Bussieres and Felipe Baraky, reached the nine-handed final table after each qualifying through a $150 WSOP Express tournament.
Bussieres eventually finished fifth for C$500,000 and Baraky sixth for C$400,000.
Calgary has also produced big fields this year. The January WSOP Circuit Main Event at Deerfoot attracted 1,321 entries and generated a C$2.5 million prize pool, with Senthuran Vijayaratnam collecting C$396,556 for first place.
How to qualify for WSOP Circuit Calgary
Canadian players can find the Calgary satellites by opening the GGPoker app and heading to the tournament lobby.
New players who do not already have an account can SIGN UP TO GGPoker HERE before entering the qualifiers. The Calgary festival begins on September 30, while Main Event flights are scheduled for October 8, 9 and 10.
GGPoker has also confirmed that online qualifiers will be offered for the next WSOP Circuit festival at Playground near Montreal, scheduled for November 2-17. The satellite schedule for that event will be announced later.
