ICONIC21 Launches Free Double & Split Blackjack
Casino game supplier ICONIC21 has introduced Free Double & Split Blackjack, a live dealer product allowing players to double down or split eligible hands without placing an additional wager.
Announced on November 3, the game uses an unlimited-seat format in which participants play independently against the same dealer hand.
Players holding a hard nine, ten or eleven can double down without funding the additional stake.
Eligible pairs, including aces and pairs from twos through nines, can also be split without an additional player wager.
The supplier funds the extra stake associated with those decisions.
To balance the modified rules, the game introduces a provision under which a dealer total of 22 results in a push for remaining non-blackjack hands.
Natural blackjacks retain their normal settlement treatment.
“For operators, Push on 22 is what makes the format workable. It’s a single rule that’s easy to explain on screen, and it means they can offer free doubles and splits on an unlimited table while keeping the game in balance.”
Andrii Savyntsev, Product Owner Team Lead at ICONIC21, said the format was designed to remove the additional financial commitment normally associated with doubling and splitting.
“Doubling and splitting are two of the most important decisions a blackjack player can make, but they’re also the moments that usually require committing more money to the hand,” he said.
“By removing that additional cost on eligible hands, we let players make those decisions based on the cards in front of them.”
The supplier said the unlimited-seat format also allows online blackjack sites to accommodate players without conventional table capacity restrictions.
The announcement did not specify the jurisdictions or casino operators where the new game would initially become available.
