India vs Australia predictions, tips & odds update, 2nd ODI, 2020

England vs Australia predictions, betting and odds update.

Welcome to our India vs Australia betting predictions for the second One-Day International, being played at Khandheri Cricket Stadium on Friday.

India have been installed favourites for the second ODI, despite their meek surrender in game one, with most bookies having them around the $1.80 mark in betting, with Australia’s odds around the $2.00 quote.

The Australians took a 1-0 lead after Tuesday’s first game, with one of the more dominant displays in recent memory, despite entering the clash in Mumbai as outsiders.

The Aussies were brilliant with the ball in bowling India out for 255, with Mitchell Starc the chief destroyer with three wickets. Even the spinners got in on the action with Adam Zampa getting the key wicket of Virat Kohli.

But despite the bowlers’ brilliance, it was with the bat that Australia truly dominated. The irrepressible David Warner crunched another century, while his opening partner Aaron Finch followed closely in his footsteps with a ton of his own.

Was this Aus v Ind result simply a sign of how dewy the ball was during Australia’s batting? Or was it an indicator that Australia are again a force to be reckoned with in short-form cricket?

We suspect it might be the latter. We just think any team that has the bowling firepower of Australia’s pace arsenal is going to be very hard to beat. Plus Zampa looks to have his head around Indian conditions and Ashton Agar was controlled.

Read on for our Australia vs India predictions, tips and odds update ahead of the second one-day international being played in India.

Watch the AUS v IND toss

We saw in the first one-dayer just how important the toss was. During Australia’s innings conditions were great for bowling. At night when there was a dew on the ground the conditions were great for batting. Obviously Khanderi Cricket Stadium is a different proposition, but if you’re planning on watching this match, it would pay to wait until those precious few minutes between the toss and the beginning of the game. Also the TV coverage will give you a good idea of how the pitch is going to play.

When they’re hot they’re hot: bet on Warner for most runs

Australian opener David Warner has hit back with a vengeance since his Ashes campaign and last start he was simply scintillating. The pugnacious left-hander will open the batting and India just didn’t look like dismissing him. Warner is paying $10 for man-of-the-match honours and the way he is batting, you would not put it past him. He is also paying 4.00 to top-score in the Australian innings, behind Steve Smith who has been starved of opportunities in recent matches.

Virat Kohli to make most runs for India

Kohli would be furious at himself after a lapse in concentration against spinner Zampa saw him lose his wicket for not many. He won’t want his team going down 2-0 and the big players always rise to the top. Kohli is paying 3.75 to top-score for India. Our one concern is he batted at no.4 in the opening fixture and with three class players ahead of him, he may not get enough balls in the middle if the pitch is a road and the openers get India off to a good start.

India v Australia prediction – 2nd ODI, Jan 2020

Talk about hard-to-read form. Many of the Australian squad are meant to be in Test match mode, but Warner (who played every Test this summer) and Aaron Finch failed to give anyone else a look-in with the willow in the first ODI. Will Labuschagne’s red ball form translate to one dayers? Can Steve Smith overcome his testing month against the Kiwis? These are questions we hoped to have answered by now. Because of these same reasons we are predicting India to level the series 1-1, after a Kohli masterclass but don’t place this bet with any confidence – Australia’s bowling line-up is just too strong.
