South Africa v England 3rd Test betting predictions, tips & match preview

New Zealand and England face off in the second and final Test at Hamilton starting on Friday, November 29, with the Kiwis having several stars under injury clouds.

Our New Zealand v England betting predictions article will provide the latest news surrounding the series, plus give our best bets and tips for this Test match.

The Black Caps scored a memorable win by an innings and 65 runs in the first Test at Bay Oval, Tauranga, with wicketkeeper BJ Watling starring with a double century.

They will want to close out the series 2-0 to exact some small measure of revenge for their heartbreaking loss to the English in the ICC World Cup final earlier this year.

But they will have to do it without spearhead Trent Boult, who has a side strain, while captain and ace batsman Kane Williamson has a back issue and is in some doubt.

The good news for the home team from a bowling perspective is that they have speedster Lockie Ferguson, who was outstanding at the 50-over World Cup, ready to slot straight in for Boult and make his Test debut.

England came into this series with a new-look line-up as they look to rebuild in the Test arena with newcomers including Matthew Parkinson, Ollie Pope, Dominic Sibley and Zac Crawley.

They will be desperate to square the series and will need to get a greater output from superstars such as Joe Root, who struggled in the first Test making 2 and 11. They will look to West Indies-born paceman Jofra Archer, who managed only 1-107 in New Zealand’s solitary innings.

NZ vs ENG odds

The second Test odds for England and New Zealand have been released and the Black Caps have been installed $2.25 favourites to win and make it a clean sweep in the series. England are $2.63, while the draw, which we are warming towards with some rainy weather predicted for Friday and then latest in the Test, is around $4.

New Zealand vs England best bets

As always when we preview cricket matches, we have provided our best bets.

NZ v England draw at $4

Our cricket gurus at the WGL are extremely confident about this outcome for two reasons. Firstly, there is some inclement weather predicted that could interrupt the match and, secondly, it seems likely to be a fantastic batting wicket. Earlier this year at the same ground, New Zealand amassed 6-715 declared in an innings victory against Bangladesh, with their two openers passing 100 and then Kane Williamson making an unconquered 200! Throw in the fact that Bangladesh almost made the Kiwis bat again and you can see it was a batting paradise. There might be a little more help this time around for the bowlers but we are happy to have a crack at this outcome.

Lockie Ferguson to take most wickets in England first innings

The debutant Kiwi is genuinely fast and trouble the English batsmen in the 50-pver game. There is plenty of excitement about what Ferguson can become and we can see him bursting on to the Test arena in style. He is at around $4 to take the most wickets in the England first innings.

New Zealand v England prediction

Another cracking England v New Zealand contest looms and there is very little between these two sides. The toss will be of vital importance, but as mentioned above we are keen on betting on a draw this time. The Black Caps need only a draw to secure a series victory. Whatever happens there will be plenty of talent on display. We must mention Ben Stokes, who can be backed with confidence to be man of the match at around $8, as he is at the peak of his powers and one of the most influential players in the game. Good punting.
