PENN opens $100m hotel tower at Hollywood Casino Columbus
PENN Entertainment has officially opened a new $100 million hotel tower at Hollywood Casino Columbus, marking the latest milestone in the company’s ongoing retail expansion strategy.
The 203-room development features 183 standard rooms, 20 luxury suites, a full-service restaurant and bar, conference facilities, a fitness centre and outdoor terrace. PENN said the project will create approximately 150 new jobs at the Ohio property.

The opening was celebrated with a grand opening ceremony attended by local dignitaries, while public festivities included a performance by The Ohio State University Alumni Band, a concert by Bret Michaels and a fireworks display.
PENN also revealed plans to further expand the casino and property later this year with a new high-limit table games room and speakeasy bar, subject to regulatory approval.
Chief Executive Officer Jay Snowden said the opening represented the third of four major retail development projects completed within the past year. The company is scheduled to open its new Hollywood Casino Aurora property in Illinois on June 24.
“We’re delighted to officially open our new hotel in Columbus, which further positions us as the top entertainment destination in the region,” he said.
“This opening marks our third of four retail development projects to open in under a year, and we expect to follow this momentous day with the grand opening of our new casino in Aurora, Illinois in less than two weeks.”
Ohio has a fully regulated sports betting industry, but is yet to regulate online casinos and other forms of real money online gambling.
