Women's State of Origin Game 2 Betting Preview

Queensland will enter Women’s State of Origin Game 2 as rank outsiders, as NSW looks to seal the series 2-0 at Suncorp Stadium on Thursday night.

Despite a narrow 11-6 loss on the road in game 1, the Maroons are priced at a juicy 3.30 to beat the Blues (1.30) in game 2 with Australian betting sites

The Maroons-Blues line has been set at 9.5 points, while the total match points over/under is at 37.5 points.

The Maroons have suffered an injury blow with Phoenix-Raine Hippi out with a hamstring injury, but Brianna Clark is a more than handy replacement.

The Queensland team has also added Destiny Mino-Sinapati and Jasmine Peters to their squad.

The Blues have lost Tiana Penitani Gray, with Hannah Southwell, Quincy Dodd and Rima Butler coming into the squad.

Remarkably the Maroons have never beaten the Blues at Suncorp Stadium, but the teams have only clashed there twice.

QLD v NSW betting tips

Our rugby league betting expert has taken a look at the markets and found some value QLD v NSW tips:

Queensland + 9.5 points

The Blues deserve favouritism to end this series in game 2, but Queensland were admiral and had their chances in the opening match. In front of a rabid crowd, we think they can push the Blues all the way again here and get within 9.5 points. The Maroons +9.5 is paying 1.90 with betting sites.

Ellie Johnston player of the match

This is a bit of a throw at the stumps, but Blues prop Ellie Johnston always remains involved in the game. She’s a key cog to the Blues and will play long minutes. We like her at 15.00 to win man of the match honours, wth the toughness of Origin suiting the powerhouse Johnston.

Tamika Upton to score

She’s among the favourites to cross the line in this match, and we think she will take care of business. She’s short at 2.10, but is the key to the Maroons attack, which should be more oiled with game 1 behind them.

Queensland v NSW prediction

We weren’t far off with our 18-12 prediction in NSW favour last game, and we expect more of the same in game 2, with both teams expected to be better for the run. Unlike other pundits, we don’t think the scoring will free up in game 2, with a low-scoring slog on the cards again. We’ll happily take Queensland + 9.5 and take the unders with total points, unless it gets lower than the current 37.5 up for grabs with Ladbrokes. Our final Queensland v NSW prediction? NSW 20-12.
