England vs Australia predictions, betting and odds update.

South Africa and Australia are virtually straight back into action with the first of three one-day internationals at Boland Park, Paarl, on Saturday.
Australia claimed the three-match T20 International series with a crushing win in the decider at Newlands, and it’s hard to see the home team turning things around in the 50-over series.

The Australians have an in-form top order, with David Warner, Aaron Finch and Steve Smith all looking in great nick, not to mention the dominance of their pace bowlers and spinners.
They play an ODI at Boland Park for the first time, but it is not a ground at which the Proteas have dominated and the South Africans seem there for the taking after a long, tough summer.
The South Africans have shaken up their squad with the inclusion of batsmen Kyle Verreyenne and Janneman Malan, who are both a chance of making their ODI debuts.

For more info read our guide to betting on cricket. We have looked through the markets to come up with some best bets for the match at Paarl.

Steve Smith top-scorer for Australia at $4.50

So we are back to the 50-over format which should allow the likes of Smith to get more time in the middle. The former Australian skipper looked in great touch in hi short stints in the middle during the T20 series and he will enjoy having time to build an innings. Check out the markets on match day as many of the top bookies will often offer enhanced odds on the top batter markets. If you are wagering from South Africa, check out the top ZA betting sites.

Andile Phehlukwayo top wicket-taker for South Africa

We were disappointed Phehlukwayo was left out of the team for the final T20 as he has a terrific record at Newlands. But we will stick with him at the juicy $6 odds here as he is one of those players who often bobs up with a couple of wickets and also has a good record at this ground. He is also worth a small wager for player of the match as he is a useful batsmen too.

South Africa v Australia predictions – 1st ODI, Feb 29, 2020

South Africa will hopefully regain Temba Bavuma after a hamstring strain and he really adds quality at the top of the order. But unfortunately for the home team they are facing an extremely powerful line-up at the peak of their powers while South Africa have had a shuffle the deck. The only way we can see them giving the Australians a run for their money is if Quinton de Kock once again gets among the runs. He also needs the other batsmen to step up. But it’s Australia comfortable for us. Good punting.
