Wazdan enters South Africa via Hollywoodbets

Online casino game developer  Wazdan has entered the South African gambling market through a new partnership with  Hollywoodbets, bringing an initial selection of 10 online slot titles to the operator’s online gaming platform.

The agreement, announced on October 16, marks Wazdan’s first commercial launch in South Africa and expands Hollywoodbets’ existing selection of online casino games.

The games are being delivered through the aggregation platform operated by  Light & Wonder, allowing Hollywoodbets to integrate the supplier’s portfolio through an established technology provider.

The initial HollywoodBets rollout includes three titles from Wazdan’s 9 Coins series: 9 Coins, 9 Coins 1000 Edition and 9 Coins Grand Gold Edition.

Other games included in the agreement are Burning Sun, Hot Slot: 777 Crown, Hot Slot Mystery Jackpot Joker, Magic Spins, Power of Gods: Valhalla, Power of Sun: Svarog and Sizzling Eggs.

The launch gives Hollywoodbets customers access to a mixture of traditional slot mechanics, bonus-driven games and titles featuring Wazdan’s established mathematical models.

Wazdan has been expanding its international distribution network, with its games now available across more than 40 regulated gambling markets.

Wazdan Commercial Director Bekki D’Agata said the agreement represented an important step in the company’s African expansion.

“South Africa is an exciting addition to our international footprint, and entering the market with Hollywoodbets gives us a strong foundation from which to build,” she said.

Hollywoodbets Head of Product Wayde Dorkin said the operator was focused on introducing additional games and gameplay formats to its customers.

“The variety across these titles gives our players access to different gameplay styles and experiences, and we are pleased to introduce Wazdan to our platform as part of our ongoing focus on developing our casino proposition,” he said.

Unlike markets operating under a single national online casino licensing framework, South Africa regulates gambling through a combination of national legislation and provincial licensing authorities.

Neither company disclosed the commercial terms of the agreement or confirmed how many additional Wazdan games could be introduced in future.
