Fletcher suffered a calf strain in the loss to the Renegades during the week. He had an average campaign overall, with one good knock but a string of failures with the bat. He was, though, outstanding in the outfield.
Meanwhile, the red-hot Scorchers have won seven of their past eight matches and are eyeing a spot in the top two for the finals. The Stars could also finish top two if they can win both their remaining matches and other results fall their way.
The Scorchers defeated the Hurricanes just a day earlier than this match, with another powerhouse bowling display from the likes of the competition’s leading wicket-taker so far Jhye Richardson.
Both teams have pretty close to their strongest line-ups, though the Stars may consider including pace bowler Billy Stanlake for this clash.
