Dolphins v Bulldogs NRL betting tips and predictions

The Redcliffe Dolphins host the Canterbury Bulldogs to kick off NRL round 10 and while neither team is in the top eight, this match will go a long way to deciding the 2026 fate of both.

While the teams would be reasonably satisfied with their defensive output in this high-scoring season, all eyes will be on the Bulldogs’ attack, which has been nothing short of woeful as they have stumbled to just three wins from eight matches.

If you take out the outlier which was their shock 32-16 win against the powerhouse Penrith Panthers in round six, the Dogs are averaging a miserly tick over 16 points per game. They just can’t get over the try-line and if that does not change soon they run the risk of this season becoming a write-off after all the promise and improvement they enjoyed in 2025.

Meanwhile, the Dolphins have also had their struggles but they have fired enough warning shots of late to indicate their own much vaunted attack is close to clicking into gear. Last weekend they swamped the Melbourne Storm 28-10 after trailing at half-time.

Australian betting sites have sided with the home team here, making the Dolphins hot favourites at $1.46 and also installing their lne at -6.5 points.

Dolphins v Bulldogs team news

The Dolphins could regain a couple of speedy customers who wold play a key role, especially as the big men tire late in each half.

Kristian Woolf has named playmakers Kodi Nikorima and Jeremy Marshall-King in jumpers No.18 and No.19, and it would be no surprise to see one or both in the line-up. Dummy-half Marshall-King is ready to play his first game of the season after suffering a knee injury in the off-season.

The Bulldogs have stuck largely with the team that lost to the Cowboys last weekend. Bench forwards Kurt Mann (head knock) and Jake Turpin (biceps) won’t play, with Harry Hayes and Sean O’Sullivan added to the bench.

The Roosters firmed into $6.50 and second favourites with Ladbrokes Australia to win the title after their impressive win against the Broncos, though we can’t read too much into it given the Broncos’ injury disruption.

Both teams remain a long way behind the hot title favourites Penrith, who are still around $2.50. That is extremely short when you consider how many of their stars will soon likely be lining up in the brutal State of Origin series.

Elsewhere, the Warriors are humming along OK and will relish the bye. They generally do well over the Origin period and their defence this season has been outstanding, second only to the frugal Panthers.

We expect the Sharks to upstage the Bunnies is their clash on Saturday afternoon and if you want the $21 plus available about them to win the title, this could be a good time. If they do upset the Bunnies, they will surely charge up the betting charts.

The most amazing thing about title betting this week is that Melbourne are out to $51 after opening the season among the favourites. Another loss this weekend against the dazzling Wests Tigers and they could almost be ruled out in 2026. The bookies, however, have them as favourites to beat the Tigers, who have hit a rough patch of injuries and suspension.

Dolphins v Bulldogs betting tips

The Dogs have dropped five of their past six matches, their one success amazingly coming against the high-flying Panthers.

Their best of a win on the road lies in their forwards, with their back-line unlikely to be able to go with the stacked Dolphins back line featuring the likes of Herbie Farnworth, Selwyn Cobbo, Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow and Isaiya Katoa.

The Dolphins are just running into form and fitness this NRL season and it’s hard to see where the Dogs’ points will come from, though their commitment can never be questioned.

Broncos v Dolphins tip

Dolphins by 12 points.

Broncos v Dolphins Suggested Bet
  • Dolphins -6.5 points/ Match total under 50.5 points at around $3.90 with Australian betting sites.
  • Jack Bostock (Dolphins) any time try-scorer at $2.10. He has been on a tear since his return from injury.
