Greyville racing tips for Wednesday
Welcome to our Greyville racing tips for Wednesday, June 3, 2026, with the card a competitive eight race affair, with some quality types set to go around.
While there are several open handicaps that could test punters, a pair of runners stand out as possible exotic bet bankers on the Hollywoodbets Greyville Polytrack. Justin Snaith’s Hazel Green brings strong Cape Town form into Race 2 and looks the one to beat if she handles the surface, while Pop Chart makes his first appearance for Dean Kannemeyer in the feature B Stakes after catching the eye behind the highly regarded Miami Mountain last time out.
Elsewhere, races such as the fourth, fifth and eighth appear wide-open betting contests with plenty of chances, while established poly performers including Takethegreenlight, Gorgeous Dude and One Path look capable of featuring prominently. With competitive fields throughout and several horses trying the surface for the first time, punters can expect an intriguing afternoon of racing in Durban.

Race 1
Bet With Colossus Pools Exclusive On Www.tote.co.za Open Maiden (F & M)
SIERRA FOXTROT (6) drifted off the boards on debut but raced green and finished a creditable four lengths off the winner. She should come on nicely from that effort. WINTER MIRACLE (7) found form when dropped back to a sprint last time and must be respected on that performance. SMART CHOICE (4) disappointed after a promising previous run but would be a major contender if reproducing her best form. MOON GIRL (1) showed improvement at her second start despite jumping from a wide draw and should appreciate gate one and a handy galloping weight. This race is likely to be wide open with South African betting sites, but if there is some value about Sierra Foxtrot, don’t hesitate jumping on.
Our tip: 6-7-1-4
Race 2
Race Coast – Bright Future For SA Horse Racing Maiden Plate (F & M)
HAZEL GREEN (2) brings some useful Cape Town form into this contest. She has performed well over the distance and if she handles the polytrack, she should prove hard to beat. TIPPERARY (3) is a long-time maiden but has finished runner-up with Mickaelle Michel aboard and the step up in trip could suit. RED HOT MISS (5) takes on older runners but has shown promise in her two starts to date and can feature. DANCING IN DEMARK (1) has not been beaten far in her last two starts and the claim should enhance her prospects.
Our tip: 2-3-5-1
Race 3
Live It. Love It. Own It. Www.racecoast.co.za Open Maiden
SKIPPER O’MALLEY (6) takes on the males and is overdue for another victory. She has run well on the polytrack and carries a handy weight. TAKETHEGREENLIGHT (9) is lightly raced and has shown ability in two local outings. He was runner-up on the poly last start and looks capable of going one better. PEEPING TOM (3) has been in good form recently but may struggle to turn the tables on TAKETHEGREENLIGHT based on their latest meeting. DIAMOND MAKER (4) steps up in trip for the first time and is worth monitoring in the betting.
Our tip: 6-9-3-4
Race 4

SYX HOTFIX (6) has returned to form and was narrowly denied by a useful rival last time out and is likley to be favourite with HollywoodBets (HollywoodBets review). THE WOLF (8) continues to knock on the door and enjoys racing on the polytrack. He finished a length behind SYX HOTFIX last start and is 0.5kg better off at the weights. STAR OF THE FUTURE (7) was touched off in stronger company last time and should be competitive. WORLD OF OUR OWN (4) carries top weight after rising in the handicap but remains capable of featuring with De Melo back aboard. QHUDE MANIKINIKI (1) improved when fitted with cheek pieces to win his maiden and merits consideration, although stable rider Sean Veale’s decision to partner SYX HOTFIX may be significant.
Our tip: 6-8-7-4
Race 5
Lucky Fish Winning Streak Apprentice Class 5
This looks a tricky contest. NATIONAL DREAM (8) has returned to form with two encouraging efforts on the polytrack and benefits from an accomplished apprentice. BASIE RAAKVAT (6) has also improved since the application of blinkers and boasts a solid polytrack record. MOUNTAINSOFTHEMOON (2) broke through for a deserved victory on the poly last time and attracted strong market support. GLOBAL MOVEMENT (1) performed well from a difficult draw last start and must be respected in a wide-open affair.
Our tip: 8-6-2-1
Race 6
Www.gallop.co.za B Stakes
POP CHART (2) produced an excellent effort behind Miami Mountain at Turffontein last time out. He has some strong Port Elizabeth form and if he handles the polytrack, he could be the one to beat. CONNERY (1) continues to drop in the ratings and has his preferred apprentice aboard from a favourable draw. INSIDE VOICE (4) is much better than her latest run suggests, although she does take on males. UNITED NATION (5) is a proven polytrack specialist returning to what appears to be his optimum distance. DONQUERARI (3) is always honest and was unlucky last time when finding traffic at a crucial stage.
Our tip: 2-5-4-1
Race 7
Join The Fun Www.socialsquad.co.za Class 5
An open-looking race. GORGEOUS DUDE (3) has solid polytrack form and although he may prefer slightly further, his light weight and the booking of Muzi Yeni are positives. PARATROOPER (8) may have needed his first KZN outing and was not beaten far. If he adapts to the polytrack, he should be a major threat. KALI BWANA (2) takes on the males but is rarely far away and has been competitive in her recent course and distance efforts. SAUDI SWEEP (1) has shown her best recent form over longer trips but has the inside draw and a leading apprentice in the saddle.
Our tip: 3-8-2-1
Race 8
Hollywoodbets Bright Future Apprentice Class 5 (F & M)
ONE PATH (3) needed her latest turf outing and has some smart polytrack form to her name. Despite carrying a fair weight after the apprentice claim, she should be in the firing line. PREACHER MAN (4) faced much stronger opposition last time and can improve significantly in this grade. PARTY GIRL (5) shed her maiden tag on the poly at Fairview and makes her local debut. She remains lightly raced and open to further improvement. FUTANO (8) has improved since the application of blinkers, enjoys racing on the polytrack and carries a light weight.
Our tip: 3-4-5-8
