Octoplay gets green light to launch slots in Pennsylvania
Octoplay has secured approval to supply online casino games in Pennsylvania, giving the rapidly expanding slot developer access to its third regulated US state.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has granted Octoplay Interim Authorisation, allowing its games to be supplied to licensed online casino operators in the state.
Pennsylvania follows New Jersey and Michigan in the supplier’s US expansion.
The move is significant because Pennsylvania is one of only a small number of US states where full online casino gaming is legal.
Octoplay entered New Jersey through BetMGM in June 2025 before launching in Michigan with BetMGM, FanDuel and Rush Street Interactive in December.
That means it has established a presence in three major US regulated casino markets in less than 18 months.
Octoplay Chief Legal Officer Martina Borg Stevens said Pennsylvania’s licensing process represented an important test for the company.
“Regulatory approval is the foundation of everything we do commercially, and we treat it that way,” Borg Stevens said.
“Pennsylvania sets one of the highest bars in the United States and we met it.
“That puts our content in three of the largest regulated states in the country and gives us the platform to keep building across North America.”
Pennsylvania legalised online casino gaming under its 2017 gambling expansion legislation, with the first sites launching in 2019. The market has subsequently developed into one of the largest regulated online casino jurisdictions in the United States.
Licensed casinos can offer online slots and table games, while suppliers providing games and associated technology must receive the appropriate regulatory approval.
Octoplay’s North American push now extends beyond the US.
Its games are also approved in Ontario and Alberta, giving the supplier five regulated North American jurisdictions.
The company was among the suppliers ready when Alberta’s competitive market opened in July, going live with seven operators including BetMGM, FanDuel and DraftKings.
Octoplay says it is now approved across 20 regulated jurisdictions globally.
The Pennsylvania approval does not mean every Octoplay game will immediately appear at every casino.
Individual operator integrations and any game-specific regulatory requirements still have to be completed, but the authorisation removes the main supplier-level regulatory barrier to entering the market.
