Greyville racing tips

Our Greyville tips, form and preview for Sunday focus on a competitive nine-race turf card, with Master Du Rouvray fancied to make amends in the Michaelmas Handicap over 1900m.

Master Du Rouvray (6) disappointed when favourite behind stable companion Cleartherunway last time, but the slow pace did him no favours. He is now 2.5kg better off and should benefit from a stronger tempo with Go Grayson Go in the field. Mohave Prince is another capable of reversing the form, while TAB SA Derby winner Curious Girl makes her seasonal return.

Ascalon Dancer appeals in Race 8 after a promising comeback run, although Scarlet Macaw and Charge It are dangers. Barry’s Boy can get the Place Accumulator off to a solid start in Race 3, while Siesta Sunset looks well placed in the fifth after dropping in class. Serpentine Fire is the selection in a competitive finale.

Below is our free form, analysis and tips for all races at Greyville on Sunday, October 11, 2026.

Race 1

ONE PEPPER (8) has been a beaten favourite at his last two starts but was unlucky in running last time and should appreciate the step up in distance. He gets another opportunity to shed his maiden. SENSEI OF SPIN (2) attracted good market support on debut but was always outpaced before finishing down the field behind rank outsider HADRIAN’S WALL. The longer trip should suit and he is entitled to improve with that experience behind him. FLEUR DELACOUR (3) takes on male opposition but has shown consistent form in her first three starts and should again be competitive from a favourable draw. ARKADIN (7) is seldom far off the pace and showed improvement with blinkers fitted. He stays the distance and has claims of getting into the places.

Our tip: 8-2-3-7

Race 2

In The Box Seat Podcast By Gallop Tv Mdn Plate (F & M)

ABBEY’S WORLD (6) has finished runner-up in her last two starts and has shown plenty of promise in just three outings. The opposition does not appear particularly strong and she looks well placed to go one better. MIST IN MARYLAND (4) could provide the biggest threat after being touched off in a tight finish on the Polytrack last time. She finished two lengths behind ABBEY’S WORLD when they previously met but has the form to make another race of it. QUERARISTINYFERARI (3) is much better than her last two performances suggest and has previously gone close over this course and distance. A return to her best would put her firmly in contention. APACHE BLESSING (8) could prove the pick of Alyson Wright’s runners despite the difference in their exposed form. The betting market should provide a useful guide to her chances.

Our tip: 6-4-3-8

Race 3

Tote For The Win Class 4

BARRY’S BOY (5) was a recent maiden winner and looks capable of following up in a tricky handicap. His form leading up to that victory has subsequently been franked, suggesting he could have more to offer against stronger opposition. PHUTULICIOUS (3) is always game and scored at lengthy odds last time. He enjoys racing on turf and is holding his form well enough to be a major contender again. CAVALRY COMMANDER (7) is seldom far from the action and comes into the race off a victory under Richard Fourie. He should remain competitive in this company. BEST OF ALL (9) has a difficult draw and a big weight to overcome, but remains lightly raced and could be better suited to this shorter distance. He cannot be ruled out in an open contest.

Our tip: 5-3-7-9

Race 4

Live It. Love It. Own It. Www.racecoast.co.za Class 5

SCANDALIZE (1) is a lightly raced filly who has performed well in both starts since shedding her maiden. She has the benefit of the inside draw and gets further assistance from a 4kg claiming apprentice, making her an appealing selection in an open handicap. LUNCH MONEY (5) has been close-up in each of his last five starts and should again contest the finish if maintaining that consistent form. CHAMPAGNE MAC (2) was rewarded for his consistency with a comfortable victory against several fellow veterans last time. He has just 49.5kg to shoulder and should remain competitive under such a light burden. FRENCH WAR LORD (9) has a wide draw to overcome but was not beaten far in his first outing out of the maiden ranks. His earlier form against promising opposition suggests he is capable of making his presence felt.

Our tip: 1-5-2-9

Race 5

Join The Fun Www.socialsquad.co.za Class 4 (F & M)

SIESTA SUNSET (9) looks to have found a suitable opportunity after dropping in class and receiving a two-pound reduction in the handicap. She also benefits from a 2.5kg claiming apprentice and has plenty of natural speed, giving her a good chance of returning to winning ways. Highveld raider MYSTICAL MISS (2) is holding her form well and faced considerably stronger opposition at her latest outing. She should prove a major threat in this company. LADY GODIVA (8) has finished runner-up in her last two starts and boasts particularly good form over this course and distance. She looks certain to be involved in the finish again. SHOWGIRL (4) has performed encouragingly in three outings since returning from a lengthy absence and could be approaching peak fitness. She cannot be ignored in a competitive contest.

Our tip: 9-2-8-4

Race 6

Lucky Fish Fortune Cup Middle Stakes

HANDSOME PRINCE (11) is the sole runner on the card for Cape-based trainer Michelle Rix and arrives with some useful Cape form. He has a difficult draw to overcome but the booking of Richard Fourie is a significant positive and he looks capable of making a winning local appearance. HADRIAN’S WALL (3) made all the running to shed his maiden at long odds and that form has subsequently been franked by the runner-up winning. He has a favourable draw and only 52.5kg to carry, giving him a realistic chance of following up. CITY OF LOVE (5) produced something approaching her best form over this course and distance last time. She carries the same weight and could go one better with a repeat performance. KALAHARI ROLLER (8) seldom runs a poor race and has a stronger apprentice aboard this time. With a handy weight, he should again be competitive.

Our tip: 11-3-5-8

Race 7

Michaelmas Handicap (1900m)

MASTER DU ROUVRAY (6) disappointed when starting favourite behind stable companion CLEARTHERUNWAY (1) last time, but the slow pace in a five-horse field did not suit him. CLEARTHERUNWAY was allowed to dictate proceedings before quickening away, and MASTER DU ROUVRAY is now 2.5kg better off at the weights. A stronger pace looks likely with front-runner GO GRAYSON GO (11) in the field, making MASTER DU ROUVRAY the selection to reverse the form. GO GRAYSON GO has Richard Fourie aboard, who partnered him to victory three starts back, and could prove difficult to catch if allowed his own way. MOHAVE PRINCE (4) had every chance behind CLEARTHERUNWAY but is now 2kg better off and also has prospects of turning the tables. CURIOUS GIRL (3), winner of the TAB SA Derby Gr 1, makes her seasonal return after being outclassed in the Hollywoodbets Durban July Gr 1. She has the ability to feature but may need the outing.

Our tip: 6-11-4-3

Race 8

Progress Plate (1400m)

ASCALON DANCER (3) should have benefited from his recent comeback run in a competitive sprint, his first outing since May. He finished just two lengths behind OKAVANGO and looks capable of improving considerably with that effort behind him. The lightly raced four-year-old has a favourable weight in this fixed-weight contest and could fulfil his potential. SCARLET MACAW (9) has produced more than useful form in strong company and rates a major danger if overcoming her wide draw. CHARGE IT (1) makes her first appearance for Alyson Wright and has not raced since April. She is smart on her day and would be a serious contender if sufficiently forward, making the betting market worth monitoring. NATIVE RULER (2) is the best weighted runner and has the class to be competitive, but this distance is likely to be too short as he prepares for a crack at the Betway Summer Cup Gr 1. A forward showing may be the main objective.

Our tip: 3-9-1-2

Race 9

Hollywoodbets Bright Future Class 4

SERPENTINE FIRE (7) has been knocking on the door for some time and gets another good opportunity to return to winning ways and should still be at a nice price with South African betting sites. He is racing over his ideal distance and has a handy weight, making him an appealing selection in a highly competitive handicap. BOMBERS IN THE SKY (13) makes his local debut after producing some useful form in the Cape. He has a difficult draw to overcome but drops in class and has also been coming down in the handicap, giving him claims if adapting to his new surroundings. DRICUS (6) steps up in distance but is seldom out of the money and represents a stable in good form. He should feature prominently again. BLIZZARD QUEST (12) attracted some market support on the Highveld last time and has shown improvement in recent outings. He could be worth including in all exotic bets at potentially attractive odds.
