AFL round 10 odds, fixture & early tips – Lions expected to beat Richmond

The Brisbane Lions v Richmond game will open AFL round 10, with the Lions a short $1.43 to win, while the Tigers are outsiders at $2.87 for Friday night’s clash. 

The Lions have hit form after their 73-point win over the Gold Coast, which was their fifth successive victory in 2021, which has catapulted them into fourth on the ladder. 

The Tigers on the other hand are injury depleted and probably should have lost their last outing against GWS, who led the contest for most of the day. 

They could be boosted by midfield star Dion Prestia after his medium-term calf injury, but Shai Bolton, Trent Cotchin, Shane Edwards and Kane Lambert are all still at least a week away. 

The early game on Saturday will see Carlton ($1.30 with the best AU betting sites) host Hawthorn ($3.57) with the Blues expecting a response from the Hawks, who succumbed to North Melbourne last start.

Geelong ($1.06) is an unbackable favourite for their game against the Gold Coast ($9.50) with the Cats beginning to look their menacing best, even without midfield star Patrick Dangerfield. 

Adelaide ($5.80) will require a minor miracle to beat the undefeated Melbourne ($1.14) at the Adelaide Oval in the twilight fixture, but they will be pleased with their effort on the road against West Coast. 

Western Bulldogs are the $1.27 favourite with bookmakers to defeat St Kilda ($3.80) at Marvel Stadium, in what looms as an interesting clash between two improved teams. 

Fremantle ($1.84) v Sydney ($2) is the final AFL round 10 game on Saturday, with the Dockers holding narrow favouritism, despite blowing a winning position against Essendon last start. 

Sunday’s early game will pit GWS ($2.05) against West Coast ($1.80) at Giants Stadium, with Giants star Toby Greene, who has been a big factor in their season revival, injuring a thumb against Richmond and set for a month on the sidelines. 

Collingwood ($3.56) are outsiders for their clash against Port Adelaide ($1.06) at the MCG, in what looms as a tricky fixture for the Power.

The final round 10 fixture will see Essendon ($1.31) host North Melbourne ($3.47) at Marvel Stadium on Sunday.
