AFL round 11 odds, schedule and early tips
Round 11 of the AFL will open with a blockbuster clash between the Western Bulldogs and Melbourne at Marvel Stadium on Friday night.
The Bulldogs have deservedly been priced at $1.65 to win this clash after their super-impressive 111-point humiliation of St Kilda on Saturday night.
Melbourne was undefeated heading into their outing against Adelaide on Saturday, but were beaten by one-point by the cellar-dwelling Crows. This has left punters scratching their heads and potentially unlocked the secret to beating them, with bookies pricing them accordingly at $2.25 to defeat the Bulldogs.
Collingwood ($4.75) is a rank outsider for their clash against Geelong ($1.19) on Saturday afternoon, after their heart-stopping one-point loss to Port Adelaide on Sunday. The Cats are coming off a 34-point win over Gold Coast.
Brisbane ($1.20) is expected to beat GWS ($4.60) at the Gabba, but the Giants will be buoyed by their 16-point win over top four contender West Coast, despite missing their best player Toby Greene.
St Kilda’s odds are remarkably short at $1.20 to defeat North Melbourne ($4.60) despite their disastrous last outing. It’s a big week for the Saints with coach Brett Ratten indicating he would swing the selection axe, with top recruit Bradley Hill in the gun.
Gold Coast ($1.46) will host Hawthorn ($2.75) at TIO Stadium in the Northern Territory, in what looms as a must-win games for the Suns, who have been underwhelming this season.
West Coast ($1.18) will host Essendon ($5.10) at Optus Stadium with this clash seemingly the Eagles’ to lose, with their home form completely different to their patchy travel record.
Richmond suddenly will be more nervous about their fixture against Adelaide on Sunday, after their stunning form reversal, but Aussie bookmakers have faith in the reigning champion. The Tigers’ odds are at $1.17 with the Crows $5.10 to win.
Sydney ($1.40) will host Carlton ($2.96) at the SCG with this game promising to be a beauty. The Swans are coming off a loss, but will be buoyed by Lance Franklin’s six-goal haul against the Dockers, while Carlton fought hard to defeat Hawthorn.
Port Adelaide were far from convincing against Collingwood, but are priced at $1.17 to defeat Fremantle ($5.10) in the final match of round 11.
