Collingwood v Brisbane betting tips and prediction
Welcome to our Collingwood v Brisbane betting tips and winner prediction for their AFL round 24 clash at the MCG on Friday night.
The Magpies (4.10) are rank outsiders to beat the reigning premier with the eighth-placed club expected to rest a bevy of stars, given this match has little impact on their ladder position.
The Lions (1.24) however can stitch up third-place on the AFL ladder and ensure a clash against Sydney, who have been decimated by a handful of players being caught up in a well publicised scandal.
The Lions, who are fresh off a 42-point win over Gold Coast, lose and they can slip as low as sixth which would make their path to a third successive premiership much harder.
Collingwood, which produced another gutsy draw against Hawthorn last start, has already indicated defender Isaac Quaynor will not play against the Lions, while other stars like Nick Daicos and Darcy Cameron are in some doubt.
The Lions have far few injuries than the Magpies but will consider bringing young defender Ty Gallop back into the team after his suspension. Star midfielder Hugh McCluggage is at least another week away with his calf injury, but appears destined to return for finals.

Collingwood v Brisbane betting tips
WGL’s AFL betting expert has assessed the markets and found some value Collingwood v Brisbane tips:
Cam Rayner 3+ goals
Rayner has not had the best season for the Lions, but looms as a key in this contest, with the Magpies missing a host of mid-sized defenders that would normally be earmarked for this job. Rayner and Charlie Cameron loom as big players in this clash and both are offering good value for 3+ goals at 6.80 and 2.90 respectively.
Levi Ashcroft 25+ possessions
Similar to the Pies, you can’t imagine the Lions will take any chances with dual Brownlow Medalist Lachie Neale. If he plays expect limited minutes which opens the door for Ashcroft’s hot form to continue. Having reached 25+ in the last fortnight, the 2.50 price on a third successive match is too good to pass up.
Ned Long 25+ possessions
Expect the Pies, even if their main man Daicos does play, to manage minutes in this clash against the Lions. Expect Long to play a big role through the midfield and the price of over $3 with NextBet (NextBet review) is outstanding. This is probably our best bet for the Pies v Lions clash.
Collingwood v Brisbane prediction
There are too many selection queries on the Pies to tip them in this one, despite their gutsy performance against Hawthorn last match. If the Daicos brothers both play, the Pies must be a chance, while if they miss, expect a spirited but ultimately fruitless effort. We aren’t feeing much excitement surrounding the wildcard positions, with a return to a final eight surely on the cards for next season. Our final Collingwood v Brisbane prediction? Lions by 28 points.
