Durbanville racing tips, best bets & preview for October 14
Our Hollywoodbets Durbanville tips, form and preview focus on Wednesday’s eight-race card, where Fog In Finland looks an appealing proposition in Race 5 after an excellent performance in the Diana Stakes (Gr 3).
Fog In Finland ran well above her official merit rating of 84 when competing against champion mare Double Grand Slam last month. The Piet Botha-trained filly drops significantly in class and has Craig Zackey aboard, although the step up to 1600m and increased weight present challenges. She nevertheless looks capable of returning to winning ways.

Candice Bass could enjoy a productive afternoon, with impressive debut winner Viva Asterix strongly fancied in Race 2. Stablemate Gimme Perfect has claims in a competitive fourth despite a difficult draw, while Grapes Of Wrath brings considerable class to the finale following her Listed victory in June. Clark Griswold is another leading contender for the Bass stable in Race 6, although Trip To Camelot represents a serious threat.
Below is our free form analysis and racing tips for all eight races at Hollywoodbets Durbanville on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.
Race 1
Hollywoodbets Durbanville Welcomes You Open Mdn
LANA’S GAL (7) stayed on strongly for second behind MADE IN CHELSEA at her latest outing and looks to have an excellent opportunity to shed her maiden tag. She should be difficult to beat on that performance. SICILY (4) finished third in the same race on September 16 and has the benefit of a favourable draw. He should be given every chance to challenge the selection. BURSTURBUBBLE (1) returns from a 63-day break and has shown fair recent form. The inside draw enhances her prospects of finishing in the money. RUST NEVER SLEEPS (3) has been absent for 70 days and is better than his disappointing performance on August 5 suggests. If returning to his best form, he could sneak into the places at attractive odds.

VIVA ASTERIX (7) made an impressive winning debut on August 22 and the form of that race has subsequently been franked. He looks a talented youngster with considerable scope for improvement and should prove difficult to beat again. BIG CITY ROLLER (4) quickened smartly to win on September 23 and appears capable of another strong performance. He warrants inclusion in all bets. CELTIC CHIEF (3) showed encouraging improvement when finishing close behind GOLD DUST on September 16. From a favourable draw, he should be competitive if reproducing that effort. THE CULLINAN (6) returns from a break having been gelded since his disappointing run in the Omoda Golden Horseshoe (Gr 2) on July 4. He has ability and could make his presence felt if sufficiently fit for his return.
Our tip: 7-4-3-6
Race 3
Rcs Two Year Old Sale 24 October Middle Stakes (F & M)
QUEEN REGENT (3) returns from a 164-day absence after finishing third behind STORMWATCH in the Ladies Mile (Listed) on May 3. She has plenty of ability and an excellent record at Hollywoodbets Durbanville. With a favourable draw, she looks the runner to beat if ready to produce her best form. TULIP FIELDS (7) resumes after 87 days and caught the eye when staying on strongly for second behind WARRIOR ROYALE in July. She should be finishing powerfully again. DREAM SEARCHER (1) recorded a convincing course victory on September 6 and received a five-point ratings increase. She is consistent, genuine and well drawn, making her a serious contender. BOOZY SUSIE (5) was an impressive winner on September 23 and has subsequently been raised eight points. This represents a tougher assignment, but she should be doing her best work late.

FINAL SAY (8) was unfortunate not to win when finishing strongly for second behind OH ISABELLA on September 16. She should strip fitter for that outing and looks capable of going one better, provided she enjoys a trouble-free passage from a tricky draw. SIGN OF SPRING (6) improved noticeably when stepping up to 1600m and finished a creditable third behind CHINWAG on September 2. She has a reasonable draw and should be involved in the finish. EYECATCHER (1) needed her comeback run on September 23 following a lengthy absence. She is reportedly held in high regard by her stable and should appreciate the step up to 1600m. The inside draw is another advantage. GIMME PERFECT (13) finished fourth behind CHINWAG last time and was running on strongly. Her wide draw complicates matters, but she has the ability to challenge if securing a clear passage.
Our tip: 8-6-1-13
Race 5
Lucky Fish Book Of Poseidon D Stakes
FOG IN FINLAND (7) produced an excellent performance in the Diana Stakes (Gr 3) on September 26 and now drops considerably in class. She takes on male opposition and steps up to 1600m, but remains progressive and looks capable of winning off her current rating. She should be included in all bets and is still offering some value at 3.70 with HollywoodBets (HollywoodBets review). THOMAS JENKINS (8) stayed on to finish just over three lengths behind CEDAR POINT on September 16 and has subsequently dropped another point in the ratings. With some luck in running, he should be competitive. LANDSEER (6) returned to form when finishing strongly for second behind JET A ONE on September 6. A repeat of that performance would put him firmly in contention for the places. MIDWAY (2) resumes after 70 days and has the benefit of a favourable draw. His chances must be respected at this level.
Our tip: 7-8-6-2
Race 6
Race Coast Incentives Powered By Hollywoodbets Class 4
CLARK GRISWOLD (6) stayed on strongly for second behind MIAMI SUMMER on August 22 and that form has worked out particularly well. He looks well placed to go one better and should be difficult to beat. TRIP TO CAMELOT (5) returns from a 92-day break after narrowly missing out in a driving finish on July 14. He should settle just off the pace before producing a strong finish, with leading jockey Richard Fourie an important booking. CAPTAINS ALLIANCE (3) finished less than two lengths behind YAMAZAKI last time and has subsequently dropped another point in the ratings. His best form gives him a solid place chance. SIGNOR DANTE (7) needed his latest outing when finishing fifth in the same race as CAPTAINS ALLIANCE. He should be considerably fitter now and warrants inclusion in combination bets.
Our tip: 6-5-3-7
Race 7
Lucky Fish Lightning Roulette A Stakes
ALL THE RAGE (5) returns from a break having undergone gelding since finishing just over six lengths behind UN BEL DI in the Winter Sprint on June 21. He possesses considerable ability and should be difficult to beat if returning in peak condition. O’TENIKWA (4) resumes after 80 days following a respectable effort behind BUFFALO STORM CODY in the Mercury Sprint (Gr 1) at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He may need the outing, but has the class and early speed to prove dangerous from the front. CAFE CULTURE (2) finished just over three lengths behind JET FORCE in the Matchem Stakes (Gr 3) on September 26. He has a favourable draw and must have a strong winning chance on that performance. TEFLON MAN (9) returns from a 68-day absence and should be running on strongly in the closing stages.
Our tip: 5-4-2-9
Race 8
Hollywoodbets Bright Future Class 5 (F & M)
GRAPES OF WRATH (8), 1.70 favourite with South African betting sites, makes her return after 109 days following an impressive victory in the Irridescence Stakes (Listed) on June 27. She possesses an excellent turn of foot and considerable ability, although the drop back to 1250m may be shorter than ideal. Despite the wide draw, she looks capable of overcoming these obstacles if enjoying some luck in running. MEG’S LEGACY (2) fought gamely to win at Hollywoodbets Durbanville on September 16 and received only a three-point ratings increase. From a favourable draw, she should be competitive again. CAPTAIN’S ELECT (3) won her maiden impressively on September 23 and appears to have further improvement to come. She is well drawn and should be included in all bets. MARGATE (4) returns from a 115-day break and is better than her disappointing June 21 performance suggests. She could make the places at attractive odds if returning to her best form.
