France v Tonga betting tips, odds, predictions – RWC 2019 Match 28

Wallabies v France second TestTest

Welcome to our free predictions and odds update for match 28 of the Rugby World Cup between France and Tonga at Kumamoto Stadium on Sunday, October 6.
France are short-priced favourites to beat Tonga and remain unbeaten in the tournament but there is no way Les Bleus will be taking the Tongans lightly.
Who could forget the massive 19-14 upset Tonga inflicted on the French in Wellington during the 2011 World Cup. Of course, France rebounded to make the final but they will be keen to make sure there is no hint of a repeat of that upset in Kumamoto.
They are wounded a little though, the French. Fullback Thomas Ramos and hooker Peato Mauvaka are out of the World Cup through injury, joining other early departures in winger Wesley Fofana and prop Demba Bamba.
Tonga showed signs of life in their loss against Argentina and French coach Jacques Brunel told AAP: “This team has power, strength, it is aggressive, enterprising. We will have a big challenge.”

France v Tonga tips RWC2019

Tonga +25 points at $1.91

Why? The Pacific Island team has nothing to lose and that’s when it can be most dangerous. Tonga stuck on well against Argentina and we don’t think there is much between France and the Pumas. We expect a French win but not by a massive margin. The French had enough trouble shrugging off the USA team.

Maxime Medard to score a try at $2.30

The France fullback should get plenty of opportunities to chime into attack. Shop around for the best odds at our leading international bookmakers.

France v Tonga prediction

We expect a rugged affair with the French getting on top late and making sure there is no upset. We would not be surprised if Tonga lead at half-time or trail narrowly at the break. We always enjoy marvelling at the power of the Tongan team, though France can more than match them in the forwards. Definitely a more enticing game for the neutral than the NZ-Namibia game on the same day.
