Gambling Commission strips Genesis Global Ltd of licence
THE UK Gambling Commission has stripped popular casino company Genesis Global Limited of its licence after suspected breaches of its conditions.
The Gambling Commission said it was forced to take action against the company after a “number of compliance issues” were detected.
The Interim suspension of the Genesis Global Limited licence means that 12 casinos will no longer be able to accept UK sign-ups, or continue to allow their existing British customers to keep playing.

The Gambling Commission said Genesis Global’s breaches centred around Section 116, (1) and (2) which are worded vaguely and essentially give it the power to suspend the licence while it reviews it.
“We suspect that Genesis Global Limited has breached a condition of the licence and is unsuitable to carry on the licensed activities,” the statement read.
“We therefore consider it appropriate to suspend the licence with immediate effect pending the conclusion of the review.”
Genesis Global Limited sent out an email to customers and affiliates (of which the World Gambling List is one) telling them about the suspension.
“Unfortunately, we have just been informed that our UKGC licence is being temporarily suspended,” it read.
“We would like to share more in detail the reasons behind this decision but unfortunately, we have not yet been informed, as can be noted from their public statement.
“Genesis will be working extremely closely with the UKGC to resolve this matter as soon as possible.”
The Gambling Commission is advising all UK players to withdraw their funds from any Genesis Global Ltd casinos immediately, with any questions about the licence suspension to be directed to the casino you signed up at.
Genesis Global Limited said the UK ban would not impact other territories where their casinos are active, with it business as usual.
The UK is regarded as one of the strictest gambling regulators in the world, with this body having an all encompassing role across different forms of wagering.
