Greyville racing tips

Our Hollywoodbets Greyville tips, form and preview focus on Friday night’s eight-race Polytrack meeting, where Roxbury Park looks ready to go one better and Remuneration could provide another good betting opportunity on a card featuring mostly modest performers.

Roxbury Park looks one of the better bets on the card when he lines up in Race 2 for Dean Kannemeyer. The lightly raced runner has finished close-up in both starts and should appreciate the extra furlong, although he will be making his Polytrack debut. He looks the one to beat, with Vessel Of Light a possible danger after likely needing his latest outing. Seed Seeker is another worth watching in the betting on his first appearance for a new stable, while So Indi has useful form over the course and distance.

Another appealing prospect is Remuneration in Race 3, the opening leg of the Pick 6. She made a promising local debut from a wide draw in soft going and now switches to the Polytrack against opposition that does not appear particularly strong. Bellanca Viking could provide the main opposition after a disappointing latest effort in cheekpieces, but she has shown useful form on the synthetic surface and gets a stronger rider aboard. The opening race is more complicated, with Midnight Hour, Lady Nancy, Willow Valli and Chooks Kiss all holding reasonable claims.

Belligerent and J Lordi look the principal contenders in Race 4, while the fifth is a wide-open handicap where Highveld visitor Time To Fire could make his presence felt for Weiho Marwing. Preux Chevalier is an improving runner who can follow up his maiden victory in Race 6, although Praise De La Rey has consistent Polytrack form and rates a serious threat. Kannemeyer could complete a double with debut winner Golden Gem in the seventh, before the well-drawn Kaapse Klopse gets the vote in the finale ahead of Stage One and Mont Loisir.

Below is our free form analysis and racing tips for all eight races at Greyville on Friday.

Race 1

Lucky Fish Plinko Mdn Plate (F & M)

MIDNIGHT HOUR (11) has a tricky draw to overcome but is lightly raced and produced an encouraging performance against male opposition last time. She should be competitive with further improvement. LADY NANCY (9) returns from a lengthy break, having last raced when disappointing in blinkers in the Grade 2 Allan Robertson Championship. She clearly has ability, but her race fitness must be taken on trust and looks a little short at 2.50 with South African betting sites. WILLOW VALLI (4) has finished in the places at her last three starts and gets the services of Keagan de Melo. She has also performed well over this course and distance and should be involved again. CHOOKS KISS (2) drops in distance but returns to her preferred Polytrack surface and has the ability to contest the finish.

Race 2

ROXBURY PARK (8) has finished close-up in both starts and looks ready to open his winning account. He makes his Polytrack debut and steps up an extra furlong, but both changes could suit and he looks the one to beat. VESSEL OF LIGHT (10) is lightly raced and probably needed his latest outing. He makes his local debut on the Polytrack for a strong stable and could show significant improvement. SEED SEEKER (11) returns from a lengthy absence and makes his first appearance for a new stable. He races with a tongue-tie for the first time and is worth monitoring in the betting. SO INDI (5) produced her best performance over this course and distance two starts back and a repeat of that effort would bring her into contention.

Our tip: 8-10-11-5

Race 3

Gallop Tv Mdn Plate (F & M)

REMUNERATION (5) made a promising local debut in soft going despite having to overcome a wide draw. She switches to the Polytrack for the first time and meets modest opposition, giving her an excellent opportunity to get back into the winner’s enclosure. BELLANCA VIKING (2) disappointed at her latest outing when fitted with cheekpieces, but she has previously performed well on the Polytrack and gets a stronger rider aboard. She looks the main danger if returning to her better form. SPOT ME IN THE SKY (3) showed marked improvement last time and could be coming to hand, making her worth including in calculations. GLITTER PAINT (4) remains lightly raced and attracted some market support at her latest start. She is open to further improvement and could get involved in the finish.

Our tip: 5-2-3-4

Race 4

Bet With Tote Www.tote.co.za Mdn Plate

BELLIGERENT (6) is lightly raced and has finished out of the money only twice in nine outings. She faces modest opposition and her consistent form should make her highly competitive in this line-up. J LORDI (1) was narrowly beaten on his first attempt over this course and distance and now has the benefit of the inside draw. A repeat of that performance would give him every chance of going one better and he looks the principal danger. LITTLE LOLITA (4) has not finished far behind in either of her two starts and had to contend with a difficult draw on the turf last time. She remains open to improvement and could make her presence felt in what looks a race dominated by the leading pair.

Our tip: 6-1-4

Race 5

Pinkdrive Apprentice C Stakes

TIME TO FIRE (6) gets a narrow preference in a wide-open handicap after producing two encouraging performances on the Highveld. He makes his Polytrack debut for Weiho Marwing and has the assistance of a promising 4kg claiming apprentice. MOJO MAN (5) has been narrowly beaten at his last two starts and is better off at the weights with B FIFTYTWO (8), giving him a strong chance of turning the tables. B FIFTYTWO is bidding for a fourth consecutive victory since being fitted with blinkers and must be respected despite a wide draw and less favourable weight terms. CHARA SANDS (1) finished close to both rivals last time and is also better off at the weights with B FIFTYTWO. He has the advantage of the inside draw and should again be competitive.

Our tip: 6-5-8-1

Race 6

Online Form Guide Www.galloptv.co.za D Stakes

PREUX CHAVALIER (6) attracted strong market support when shedding his maiden tag last time and looks an improving runner. The handicapper has given him a substantial increase in the ratings, but he appears capable of further progress and could follow up in this open contest. PRAISE DE LA REY (3) has consistent Polytrack form and goes particularly well for Nicholas Patel. She looks a major danger and should be right in the finish. SATELLITE WORLD (1) was not beaten far on his first appearance for a new stable and now races with blinkers again. He could make the necessary improvement and is worth keeping onside. TWOCANTANGO (2) has been finishing close-up over shorter distances and could benefit from the step up in trip. He is another with a chance in a competitive handicap.

Our tip: 6-3-1-2

Race 7

Lucky Fish Fortune Cup C Stakes

GOLDEN GEM (5) made a winning debut at long odds and looks capable of following up for Dean Kannemeyer. He should have benefited from that first experience and could have plenty more improvement to come. CHARLIE BUCKET (7) makes his first appearance for a new stable and has been in good form recently. He is unbeaten on the turf in KwaZulu-Natal and should be highly competitive again, although he now has to prove himself on the Polytrack. PRESSURE POINT (8) opened his winning account on the synthetic surface and followed up with a close-up performance on the turf. He steps up in distance but should be involved in the finish. PIED PIPER (2) is well suited to the Polytrack and stays the trip. He is not always reliable but has the ability to feature prominently if producing his best form.

Our tip: 5-7-8-2

Race 8

Hollywoodbets Bright Future Apprentice D Stakes

KAAPSE KLOPSE (1), priced at 2.60 with racing bookmakers, continues to hold his form and has useful previous performances over this course and distance. He has the benefit of the inside draw and looks capable of getting back into the winner’s enclosure. STAGE ONE (3) has been improving steadily and was narrowly beaten at his latest outing. He carries a handy weight and should again be competitive. BORN OF FIRE (6) followed up his maiden victory with another win at long odds and appears to have come to hand. He makes his Polytrack debut but could have more improvement to offer. MONT LOISIR (7) has shown encouraging progress since being fitted with blinkers, with his two best recent performances coming on the Polytrack. He also drops in class and looks capable of making his presence felt in the finish.
