Greyville racing tips for Wednesday, June 10
Greyville will host an eight-race polytrack meeting on Wednesday, June 10, with a competitive midweek card featuring several evenly matched handicaps and a strong Progress Plate over 1400m as the headline event.
The feature race has attracted a quality field headed by Justin Snaith’s Powerandtheglory, who brings strong Cape form to KwaZulu-Natal and could prove hard to beat despite drawing widest of all. Progressive Dean Kannemeyer-trained runner Hah Lah Lah will be chasing a third consecutive victory after impressing on the polytrack last time out, while first-time blinkers could spark significant improvement from both Vapour Trail and Powerandtheglory.
Earlier on the card, Louis Goosen-trained filly Meeksha shapes as one of the day’s better betting prospects after two encouraging performances, including a promising effort on the synthetic surface at her latest start. Competitive contests throughout the card feature proven polytrack performers such as Gimme The Power, Lilting Song, Trafalgar Square and Siberian Winter, while several runners trying blinkers or returning to their preferred surface add further intrigue.

Hollywoodbets Greyville Welcomes You Mdn Juvenile Plate
MEEKSHA (6) has shown up well in both starts and did well on the poly last time out and looms as the one to beat, despite being installed second-favourite by HollywoodBets (HollywoodBets review). TIGER KODY (7) made marked improvement in first-time blinkers and can go one better. THUNDER STAR (2) found some market support last run and the switch to the poly could see further improvement. RACHEL’S BOY (3) was not far back on debut and the experience should count.
Our tip: 6-7-2-3
Race 2
Bet With Tote Mdn Plate (F & M)
GIMME THE POWER (3) showed up well first run over course and distance. She has been competitive of late, but a win has been elusive. GREEK HEIRESS (2) has run well on the poly and improved with the blinkers removed last run. She has drawn well. QUEEN’S BOUNTY (6) steps up to a trip that should suit and she caught the eye last time out. INDIGNATION (1) steps up in trip and showed some improvement last run on her poly debut.

Wide open. LILTING SONG (2) takes on males and did well from a wide draw last time out. She goes well on the poly and has a light weight. HUNGA TONGA (4) has her first start on the poly but won well on her local debut and can follow up. PIED PIPER (10) has a wide draw to contend with but loves the poly and with a claiming apprentice up will be a contender. PRINCE OF TROY (3) is lightly raced but shed his maiden on the poly and can do better than his last run.

POWERANDTHEGLORY (9) has the widest draw to contend with but has some solid form in good company in the Cape and with first time blinkers, he should be right there if taking to the poly. HAH LAH LAH (8) is unbeaten in two and beat a useful sort in JP’S PALACE on the poly last time out. He could find it tough at these weights but he does look to be progressive. VAPOUR TRAIL (5) is another that gets first time blinkers. His last two starts are not inspiring but he can make big improvement. GOOD FOR YOU (2) is smart on his day and much better than his last two. He can surprise.
Our tip: 9-8-5-2
Race 7
Lucky Fish Mystic Fortune Class 4 (F & M)
SIBERIAN WINTER (5), who has opened at around 3.00 with South African betting sites, is long overdue but does go well over course and distance and should win soon. PRINCESS GOLDIE (1) was running on well under a big weight last run. She does take on stronger but has a handy weight from the best of the draw. LANDONNE (3) has won her last two but goes on the poly for the first time. She got a five-point increase for her last win. LAST CAR TO PASS (9) has her first outing for a new stable but has steady Highveld form. She does have a big weight and a wide draw on her poly debut.
Our tip: 5-1-3-9
Race 8
Hollywoodbets Bright Future Class 5
NAVAJO DANCER (9) needed his last run and has run well on the poly. He has a wide draw but a light weight. MEERKAT MOON (5) has improved in blinkers and has run on the poly. The form has held up. DAPPER (2) is the perennial under-achiever. He had every chance behind ULTRA QUICK (4) last start but just didn’t go on with it. He is 4kg better off with ULTRA QUICK (4). ULTRA QUICK (4) held on gamely to win last time out. He only got two-pounds for that win and Keagan de Melo replaces the apprentice.
