Greyville racing tips, form & preview for November 6
Our Hollywoodbets Greyville tips, form and preview focus on Friday night’s eight-race turf card, where Whispering Death looks capable of upsetting two Betway Summer Cup contenders in the feature Pinnacle Stakes over 1600m.
Whispering Death returned from a lengthy break with an encouraging effort behind Summer Cup-bound Magic Verse and should appreciate dropping back to 1600m. Apprentice Anaas Mosaheb’s 2.5kg claim leaves him carrying just 48.5kg, a significant advantage over King Pelles and Gladatorian, who both shoulder 61.5kg. The latter pair are using the race as their final Summer Cup preparation and may not be fully wound up, giving Whispering Death an opportunity to steal the honours.

Ferrari Flair looks one of the better bets in the opening race after showing considerable ability in graded company as a two-year-old. She returns from a break but should have too much class for her rivals. Rocco’s Peace and Roxbury Park are leading contenders in Race 3, while Diaval could appreciate stepping up to 1600m in the fourth. Major League looks progressive in Race 6, Hierarchy has strong claims in the seventh, and the consistent Mojo Man can finally get his reward in the closing sprint.

FERRARI FLAIR (4) has shown considerable class in graded company, including a close third in a Grade 3 over 1100m. Rated 94, she looks well above the exposed runners in this field and should take plenty of beating from a favourable draw, despite returning from a break. But there is little value with South African betting sites, with it priced at around 1.40 at the time of publication. FLEUR DELACOUR (14) has ability and should appreciate dropping back in distance, although her wide draw is a concern. GUINNESS GAL (6) is an interesting newcomer by leading sire WOOTTON BASSETT out of a four-time winning O’Reilly mare. She could be a threat on pedigree, although there has been little early market interest at 17-1. CHIHIRO (3) has produced two fair efforts since arriving in KwaZulu-Natal and could earn a minor placing. AVENTINE HALL is another well-bred newcomer worth monitoring in the betting.

Race 2
Gallop Tv Mdn Plate
BLUEROCKPARADISE (3) looks a promising individual who can improve significantly on his debut fifth, when beaten 7.2 lengths after encountering trouble over this course and distance. With that experience behind him, he should be much more competitive and is offering some value at 8-1 with HollywoodBets (HollywoodBets review). MY CHINA (5) caught the eye when finishing strongly for fifth on debut over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville and looks another capable of making substantial improvement. ARKADIN (4) has more exposed form but is generally consistent and should appreciate returning to a shorter trip after possibly finding 1400m too far. MONTESSORI (11) showed reasonable ability in Cape Town and cannot be overlooked despite returning from a three-month break. DEMBELE (10) disappointed at his second start but remains open to improvement.

Race 3
Tote For The Win Mdn Plate
ROCCO’S PEACE (4) produced an encouraging effort when running on strongly for a close second over course and distance last time. That was his first appearance since July and he should strip fitter here. He also benefits from a favourable draw, with 2.5kg claiming apprentice Anaas Mosaheb retaining the ride. ROXBURY PARK (8) disappointed on the Polytrack last time but returns to the distance of his better turf performances, with that form subsequently franked. He has a major winning chance if overcoming a wide draw. HELLO HANDSOME (6) returns to the trip of his promising debut, when making good late progress from off the pace. He has a reasonable draw and the assistance of 4kg claiming apprentice Shalton Elrico Sesingi, making him another serious contender.
Our tip: 4-8-6
Race 4

BRIGHT BLUE (11) finished strongly over 1200m last time and looks capable of appreciating the step up to 1600m. His two best performances have come at Greyville, although a difficult draw makes his task tougher. DIAVAL (2) has shown promise in two sprint appearances and is bred to appreciate the additional distance. He has the benefit of an excellent draw and could make the necessary improvement to open his winning account. NOCTAMBULIST (7) has shown enough to suggest he can get involved in the finish and looks a reasonable place prospect in another competitive maiden contest.
Our tip: 11-2-7
Race 5
Join The Fun Www.socialsquad.co.za Pinnacle Stakes
GLADATORIAN (6) is a proven class performer who arrives off an excellent victory in the Grade 2 Joburg Spring Challenge over 1450m. The 1600m trip suits him and he is favourably treated at the weights relative to his main rivals, although a tricky draw and the possibility that he is not fully wound up ahead of the Betway Summer Cup are concerns. WHISPERING DEATH (2) returned from a lengthy absence with an excellent effort behind MAGIC VERSE over 1800m and should appreciate dropping back in distance. He is 4.5kg worse off than GLADATORIAN on the race conditions but carries just 48.5kg with the apprentice claim and has an excellent draw. KING PELLES (4) produced an encouraging effort behind QUICKSTEPGAL last time and should improve further over this distance. He is another using the race as his final Summer Cup preparation and cannot be discounted.
Our tip: 6-2-4
Race 6
Lucky Fish Mystic Dash Mr 96 Open Hcp (3 Year Olds)
MAJOR LEAGUE (4) was an impressive winner last time, finishing full of running, and looks capable of progressing further despite receiving a four-point ratings increase. SPANISH WORLD (1) brings encouraging Cape Town form into the contest and has the benefit of pole position and a light weight. He returns from a four-month break but looks capable of making his presence felt if sufficiently forward. NAUTICAL FIRE (2) is racing consistently and should remain competitive despite a six-point penalty for his latest success. LIFE IN COLOUR (7) has the ability to produce a top-class performance over this distance but needs to bounce back from two disappointing efforts. A wide draw and top weight are additional concerns. SPIRIT OF GABZ (8) is a reliable performer who should give another honest account, although he also faces a difficult draw and a substantial weight.
Our tip: 4-1-2-7
Race 7
Online Form Guide Www.galloptv.co.za Progress Plate (F & M)
HIERARCHY (7) returned to her best form with a victory over ERIC DUBOIS last time and looks capable of following up. She is progressive, well suited to the distance and favourably treated at the weights, although she will need to overcome a wide draw. OVATION STAR (1) returns to her winning distance and has plenty in her favour from pole position. Visiting French jockey Mickaelle Michel takes 1.5kg off her back and she looks a major threat. CHARGE IT (4) is working her way back to peak fitness after a layoff and may still need this second run, but she has sufficient class to make her presence felt and should be considered for the placings.
Our tip: 7-1-4
Race 8
Hollywoodbets Bright Future Mr 84 Hcp
MOJO MAN (5) is overdue for another victory after finishing runner-up in his last three starts. He stayed on strongly over this distance on the Polytrack last time and is equally effective on turf. With a favourable draw and leading jockey Keagan de Melo aboard, he looks the one to beat. STREET OUTLAW (7) produced an excellent performance over this trip on his Polytrack debut last time and has useful turf form to his name. He should be competitive again, although his draw presents a challenge. RAINBOW REWARD (2) disappointed at his latest appearance but is the highest-rated runner in the field and should benefit from that outing. He has a favourable draw and the assistance of 4kg claiming apprentice Shalton Elrico Sesingi, bringing him into contention on his better form.
Our tip: 5-7-2
