NRL Monday: Bulldogs v Dragons, predictions & odds, round 4, 2020

NRL round 13: Dragons v Broncos

This Monday NRL match features two teams striving for their first win of the season, with both teams delivering underwhelming performances in their first match back after the hiatus last week.

NRL Sunday: Canberra Raiders v Newcastle Knights betting preview

The Dragons could not even get on the board against the New Zealand Warriors, while the Dogs were thumped 32-6 by the rampant Manly.

Both teams have rung the changes with Kieran Foran returning at five-eighth, while Adam Clune makes his debut at halfback for the Dragons. Clune suffered a broken nose at training during the week but is expected to be OK to play.

Significantly the Dragons have added the highly experienced duo Trent Merrin and Issac Luke to the bench.

The Dragons had much the better of the Bulldogs in two clashes between the teams last season, but they were in disarray against a Warriors team that was thrashed 26-0 by the Panthers on the Friday night.

Bulldogs v Dragons free betting tips

Below our NRL betting expert has highlighted his free tips for the Bulldogs v Dragons clash.

Match total over 36.5 points at $1.90

Yes, both teams have struggled in attack so far this season but it’s equally true that they have struggled in defence! Both teams are conceding more than 20 points a game on average and the total seems low given the expected clear but chilly conditions. Take the $1.90 with leading bookmaker Unibet.

Dragons to win +1.5 points at $1.80

All the early money has been for the Dragons, and recent history suggests they have the measure of a battling Bulldogs side. We are not super confident backing a side such as St George but we could not put our money on the Dogs given recent years.

Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs v St George Illawarra Dragons prediction

This is a real chance for these teams to get on the board in what is shaping as a fairly bleak campaign for both. We like the addition of Luke and Merrin to really give the Dragons some strength on the bench. It should be a brutal battle in the forwards, but we think the Dragons just have enough firepower to come out on top. Good punting.
