NRL betting is very popular right across the globe.

Without doubt the most eagerly anticipated matches are the three that will be played back to back on Sunday.

First up is the improving NZ Warriors to tackle the red-hot Parramatta Eels, who must deal with the absence of star five-eighth Dylan Brown and centre Marata Niukore (both suspended) and possibly hooker Reed Mahoney (head knock).

The bookies think they have the depth to cope with it, posting them around $1.37 favourites against the eight-placed Warriors.

In the middle contest on Sunday, third-placed Melbourne Storm face sixth-placed St George Illawarra. The Storm are second favourites for the title and hot favourites for this match.

All eyes will be on Storm flyer Josh Addo-Carr after his six-try haul against the injury-riddled Souths last weekend. And if the Storm were not an already formidable opponent, they will likely regain ace fullback Ryan Papenhuyzen from a neck injury this week.

To close out a wonderful Sunday of matches, Penrith will aim to make it 10 straight wins to start the season when they play the improving Gold Coast Titans.

The Magic Round in Brisbane will start with a double-header on Friday, with Wests Tigers facing the Newcastle Knights, before the Broncos play the Sea Eagles. Brisbane have lost Patrick Carrigan (knee) for the season and must also move on from the news that shining light winger Xavier Coates has agreed to join the Storm next season.

The pick of the three Saturday matches is the last one between the Sydney Roosters and North Queensland Cowboys. The Roosters have hung tough with an injury riddled squad but now have even more problems with young playmaker Drew Hutchison (ribs/punctured lung) out for a lengthy stint on the sidelines and Origin bolter Victor Radley (head knock) also in doubt.

NRL Premiership odds before Round 10

The bookies have narrowed the race for the title down to a big five, but really two teams loom largest at this early stage of the season.

The unbeaten Panthers tightened their grip further, moving in from $3.30 to $3 with top bookies TopSport, while defending premiers Melbourne Storm were $4.20 to $3.80.

The injury-hit Rabbitohs eased from $5 to $6 after their 50-0 flogging at the hands of the Storm, while the Roosters are all the way out from $8.50 to $10 thanks to their worsening injury crisis.

There is some value in the Eels, who are at $7 despite having lost just once all season.

Elsewhere, Canberra just can’t seem to arrest their slump which now stands at five straight losses and they were $23 out to $31, while Manly were kept safe, in from $31 to $21, as they moved into ninth with their fourth win in five matches.

Newcastle Knights were one of the few others to firm, from $91 to $51, after they piled more misery on the Raiders.
