NRL Thursday: Broncos v Roosters, predictions & odds, round 4, 2020

Brisbane Broncos v Parramatta Eeels tips, predictions, best bets, NRL ROund 3 betting

The Brisbane Broncos host the Sydney Roosters on Thursday night and must rebound quickly from their woeful display against Parramatta in round three.

In the first NRL match back after the COVID-19 shutout, the Broncos were completely outplayed by the Eels. Their attack was off and their defence was similarly poor and it won’t get any easier this time against the two-time defending champion Roosters.

Brisbane started the season with two wins, but the third-round thrashing laid bare a worry lack of cohesion in defence, which won’t be help by injuries and suspension from the match against the Eels.

Captain Alex Glenn (calf) and centre Kotoni Staggs (suspended)  are out while star young forwards David Fifita (knee) and Tevita Pangai Jr  (suspended) and still out of play.

Tongan teenage sensation Tesi Niu will make his debut for the Broncos off the bench, while young Herbie Farnworth mnoves into the centres from the bench.

Meanwhile, the Roosters put their season back on track with their comprehensive win over old foes South Sydney last Friday.

The Roosters had started the season with two losses before the pause, but came out like the champion side they are to shut down a great attacking side in the Rabbitohs and win 28-12.

Broncos v Roosters free betting tips

Below our NRL betting expert has highlighted his free tips for the Broncos v Roosters clash.

Sydney Roosters -6.5 points at $1.90

The Roosters have strengthened an already powerhouse defensive unit by signing veteran Josh Morris to join twin brother Brett this year. It’s going to be difficult for the Broncos to break through, especially missing some of their most dynamic forwards as well. Take the $1.90 with leading bookmaker Unibet about the Roosters winning by more than 6.5 points.

Roosters -6.5 into over 37.5 points match total

The weather forecast is clear so expect a fairly expansive game. You can secure $3.30 about the Roosters winning by 7 points or more and the match being over 37.5 points with Unibet.

Brisbane Broncos v Sydney Roosters prediction

The Broncos need to really dig in and show some fight here but they are sending out a relatively inexperienced team against the defending premiers. On last week’s showings it’s the Roosters by plenty. If the home fans were able to attend and really get behind their team, they could ride some of that emotion to lift their performance. We expect the Broncos to react to the disappointment of last week, but it’s hard to see them preventing a comfortable Roosters win.
