PDC Home Darts Tour - Group 14 betting Preview

Welcome to our tips, predictions and odds analysis article for the PDC Home Tour matches being played on Thursday, April 30, 2020.

The PDC Home Tour features many of the best darts players in the world, but with a twist. Players are live streaming themselves from their homes because of coronavirus social distancing rules and closed borders that have been applied in various countries.

The PDC Home Tour features a different group of four darts pros every evening British Summer Time, streamed live on the Sky Sports app, and on TV stations around the globe.

Thursday night will see four quality players go toe-to-toe with those featured and their odds to win the group being:

  • Chris Dobey (1.91)
  • Kai Fan Leung (4.00)
  • Ron Meulenkamp (4.50)
  • Ciaran Teehan (8.50)

Dobey is the hot favourite to win the group and we don’t see any reason he won’t, with the UK star one of the hot hands this year.

“Hollywood”, as Dobey is known on the tour, reached the semi final of last year’s Player Championships and has finished in the final 16 of the World Championships two years running.

Leung, priced at 4.00 to win the group with Betway, will be playing at roughly 2am local time from his Hong Kong base and is some chance of causing a boilover here. Leung only earned his PDC Tour Card on January 17, but his inexperience is hard to gauge in this online format.

Left-hander Ron Meulenkamp and youngster Ciaran Teehan round out the group. The latter at just 21 years of age is ranked 108 in the world, and the Irishman is regarded by many as a rising star of the tour and a player to watch.

PDC Home Tour Predictions – Group 14

Below we have highlighted some potential value bets and made predictions for key clashes.

Chris Dobey v Ciaran Teehan prediction

Dobey is one of the rising stars of the darts scene at just 29 years of age and he is heavily favoured to defeat Teehan, a player he has not come up against before. While we think Dobey is too short at 1.22, some online betting sites have a market that allows you to bet on the most 180s, high checkout and to win the match, which is paying 2.73 with Betway.

Prediction: Dobey to win at 1.22 with Betway.com.

Ron Meulenkamp v Kai Fan Leung tip

World no. 46 Ron Meulenkamp is a narrow favourite to defeat Kai Fan Leung, but we are willing to take him on here. Meulenkamp is a fiery customer on the live scene and seems to thrive on the crowd and atmosphere and we’re not sure how he will cope in the more demure home setting.

Prediction: Leung to win paying 1.90

Ron Meulenkamp v Ciaran Teehan prediction

Teehan was just coming into his own prior to the coronavirus shutdown and we see no reason he won’t do well at long odds against Meulenkamp. Take the 2.50 odds on offer if you want some value, or at the very least look at the handicap markets, because we think this one will be closer than the odds suggest.

Prediction: Teehan to win paying 2.50 with William Hill.

Best multi bet: Dobey to win all three matches

Chris Dobey is one of the form players in the world at the moment and we think he will win all of his matches. While he is probably too short to bet on outright, a three-legged acca or parlay bet should net you odds of around 3.00. Happy punting!
