Playson adds Super Wheel to Irish-themed Golden Penny series
Leading iGaming developer Playson has released another Irish-themed online slot, with Golden Penny x1000: Super Wheel adding a new bonus mechanic to the supplier’s growing collection of leprechaun and clover-inspired games.
Released on September 10, the new slot title builds on Playson’s existing Golden Penny x1000 formula, combining cascading symbols with multipliers ranging from 2x to 1,000x.
Playson Chief Product Officer Anton Ivannikov said the developer wanted to add another layer to the established Golden Penny gameplay.

Players need eight or more matching symbols to produce a win, after which those symbols collapse to make way for another potential combination. When a cascade sequence finishes, any clover-stamped multipliers collected are added together and applied to the total win.
The major addition is the Super Wheel, which is activated whenever players trigger Free Spins by landing at least four Scatter symbols. Depending on the number of Scatters, players receive between 15 and 25 Free Spins before the wheel determines an additional upgrade.
The Super Wheel can award extra Free Spins, a total multiplier of up to 1,000x or access to Super Free Spins. The latter removes lower-value multipliers, leaving only multipliers ranging from 10x to 1,000x in play. Three Scatters landed during the bonus can also retrigger the wheel.
Playson has also included optional Bonus Buy features. Regular Free Spins can be purchased for 100x the stake, while Super Free Spins cost 500x. An Extra Bet option costs twice the normal stake and triples the chance of triggering Free Spins.
