Esports World Cup Rocket League Group A action begins on Wednesday, with four intriguing opening-round clashes featuring former world champions, regional powerhouses and several teams capable of making a deep run at the Paris event.
NRG Esports and Team Vitality headline the group as favourites, but FURIA, Shopify Rebellion and NIP.eStar all have the talent to cause early upsets.
Group A will not be finalised until the Last Chance Qualifier is completed, with the winner set to clash with Twisted Minds, in what looms as a tough first-up clash.

NRG arrive as one of North America’s premier teams and the reigning RLCS World Champions, making them overwhelming favourites to begin Group A with a victory. TSM qualified through the North American circuit but face one of the toughest possible opening assignments against a team expected to challenge for the Esports World Cup title. We will probably leave this one alone, but if you think TSM can win a map there is some great value to be found.

Team Vitality vs FURIA Esports
Odds: Team Vitality 1.24 | FURIA Esports 3.75
This shapes as one of the best matches of the opening round, with Team Vitality entering as slight favourites after another outstanding RLCS campaign that has kept them among the world’s elite. FURIA remain South America’s strongest hope in Group A and have regularly threatened the world’s best teams on LAN, making them dangerous outsiders despite esports betting sites favouring the Europeans.
Best bet: Over 3.5 total maps at 1.50
Shopify Rebellion vs NIP.eStar
Odds: Shopify Rebellion 1.32 | NIP.eStar 3.20
Shopify Rebellion have enjoyed another consistent season in North America and enter the tournament with expectations of progressing comfortably from the group stage after reaching the RLCS Kickoff Weekend final earlier this year. NIP.eStar have proven capable of upsetting higher-ranked opposition on the international stage and will be confident of making this one of the closest contests on Thursday’s schedule. Shopify Rebellion and NIP.eStar is also one of the closer betting matches, but SR do look better on paper.
