Thunder v Strikers betting tips, prediction & odds; BBL match 51 Preview

Scorchers v Renegades BBL10

Welcome to our Sydney Thunder v Adelaide Strikers betting tips, winner prediction and odds analysis for Game 51 of the 2020-21 Big Bash League at Adelaide Oval on Sunday, January 24.

These two teams square off on Sunday and again on Monday at Adelaide Oval to round out their matches for the season, with the finals due to start on Friday.

The Strikers are right on the brink and two losses against the red-hot Thunder would probably mean they miss the finals. Two wins could have them right at the pointy end of the table heading into the play-offs.

BBL match 52: Sixers v Hurricanes betting tips, preview

The good news for the Strikers is they are on their home ground. They also have Test players Travis Head and Michael Neser back with one game under their belts as they tackle the Thunder, who set a competition record high score by making 5-232 against the Sixers at this ground on Friday, built on the back of a century from T20 superstar Alex Hales.

The Thunder have been the highest-scoring team all season, though they do have a concern with star all-rounder Daniel Sams ruled out until the finals at least with ligament damage to his non-bowling right hand and wrist.

Thunder v Strikers betting tips

Our cricket tipsters have examined the odds and found several Thunder v Strikers tips for Sunday’s BBL clash.

Travis Head top-scorer for Strikers

The skipper has the perfect game for the Adelaide Oval as he is so strong square of the wicket. Head, not surprisingly, was a little rusty at this first game back in the Big Bash League after Test duties but he should be primed for a big knock in at least one of these two matches against the Thunder. He’s also a classy player of spin, which helps against the strong Thunder spin attack.

Tanver Sangha most wickets in group of three

Unibet has offered groups of three bowlers with odds on which one will take the most wickets. We like the look of rising Thunder spinner Sangha ($2.50) up against teammate Nathan McAndrew ($2.90) and Strikers spinner Danny Briggs ($2.90).

Thunder v Strikers prediction 24/1/2021

There have been two centuries made in BBL|10 and the two players who made at their most recent innings, Alex Hales and Alex Carey, are backing up in this match with high hopes of going big again. We think the Strikers represent good value in this match on their home turf, though their bowling attack is a lot weaker without Rashid Khan working his magic. Our final Thunder v Strikers prediction: Strikers to win.
