The Raiders host Canterbury in a Saturday afternoon clash in Canberra that to the surprise of many is between the top two teams on the NRL ladder.
Canberra have been the biggest surprise packets of the season and boast a 7-2 record after their epic golden-point win against the powerhouse Storm team last weekend, while Canterbury sit atop the ladder with a sparkling 7-1 win-loss record.
A clear day is forecast in the national capital, so the stage is set for an exciting clash as the Raiders attempt to break down the Dogs’ defence, which has been easily the most miserly in the competition in 2025.
These teams played twice last season for a win apiece, with both games decided by only for points. But the Raiders have enjoyed an extraordinary dominance over the Dogs, winning nine of their past 10 meetings.
The Raiders will be without tough forward Corey Horsburgh (concussion) and they will certainly miss his wholehearted contributions. Veteran Josh Papalii will likely step back into a starting spot.
Canterbury regain key playmaker Matt Burton from suspension, but that is tempered by the loss of industrious second-rower Jacob Preston, who was banned for four weeks for a crusher tackle.

Our NRL betting expert has highlighted his free tips for Saturday’s game.
The option for the Canterbury whiz to score a try at any time is paying around $2.60 with most bookies and he has made a habit of scoring against the Raiders, with nine tries in only seven games.
The Dogs have been frugal but we expect this to be a free-flowing affair with plenty of tries. The Dogs just may have too much attacking flair.
This game will tell us a lot about the title chances of both of these teams. There is a large gap in expectations of both, but if you fancy the Raiders to go all the way this year now is the time to back them at a juicy $15. But we think the Dogs will get the job done here. Our final Raiders v Bulldogs prediction? Bulldogs by 8 points.
