Evolution discontinues string of online slots
Evolution has confirmed it will remove a string of underperforming online slot titles from its portfolio this week, including the once-popular Twin Spin Deluxe from subsidiary brand NetEnt.
Evolution said 16 games across the NetEnt and Red Tiger portfolios would be decommissioned on May 28 at 10am CET across all markets and platforms.
Evolution said the decision was driven by “poor performance and low player count”, with gambling sites instructed to remove all associated game thumbnails ahead of the shutdown.
Among the most notable removals is Twin Spin Deluxe, a sequel to one of NetEnt’s most recognisable slot franchises. While the original Twin Spin title remains active, the deluxe edition struggled to maintain long-term traction in an increasingly crowded online slots market dominated by high-volatility mechanics and branded releases.
Other discontinued titles include Happy Panda, Bollywood Story, Magic Portals and Steam Squad, many of which had operated for years across regulated European and international online casino markets.
Evolution said round closures and customer support for affected titles would still be available after the games are switched off.
The move reflects a broader trend across the online casino industry, with major suppliers increasingly pruning older or underperforming content as studios prioritise newer releases, branded intellectual property and higher-engagement slot mechanics.
