The Roos had 13 players ruled out through injury for selection against Adelaide, including some of their biggest names. The Roos also reacted savagely to a disappointing run of form by dropping spearhead Ben Brown and boom recruit Jared Polec.
While the pair will be available for selection against the Cats, Rhyce Shaw has a headache because his team produced its best form of the season, with the 69-point demolition of Adelaide, that was punctuated by more daring ball movement and multiple forward targets.
The Cats are likely to be boosted by skipper Joel Selwood who was touch and go for the clash against the Eagles, but they will take no chances with the veteran, with the hectic AFL schedule putting unparalleled stress on players’ bodies. Jack Steven, who was managed, Tom Atkins and ruckman Rhys Stanley will also come into consideration. Young mid Charlie Constable is a confirmed out after suffering a concussion against the Eagles.

Geelong v North Melbourne prediction 5/8/2020
We think Geelong might be in better shape then North Melbourne Melbourne at the moment, with injuries and form. It is hard to read much into the Roos’ win over Adelaide, because the the Crows are struggling so much in 2020. The Roos without Ben Cunnington and Jack Ziebell just won’t be able to match the hardened edge of the Cats’ midfield and they also look more experienced at both ends of the park.
