Gold Coast will enter their clash against St Kilda as an outsider in the betting but the expansion club will have plenty to play for, with their finals prospects diminishing after a strong start to the 2020 AFL season. The Gold Cost have slipped to 10th on the ladder following successive losses to the Western Bulldogs and GWS, which were both matches they acquitted themselves well in but ultimately the opposition was more battle hardened. The Suns now face the fourth-placed Saints and risk slipping over a game outside the top eight.
The Saints have reeled off three wins in a row and have won five of their last six games to stake their claim for a finals spot. New coach Brett Ratten will be keen for his team to push their case for a top four position against a weaker opponent, with heavyweights like West Coast, GWS and Collingwood yet to find top form.
AFL bookmakers have priced St Kilda at around the $1.60 quote, while the Suns odds are set at a juicy $2.60. The $1.90 line for this clash has been set at 11.5.

Gold Coast will hand a debut to outside midfielder Jeremy Sharp, who was taken with pick 27 last year, and have recalled Sean Lemmens, with Stuart Dew resisting the temptation to freshen the team with with wholesale changes despite the hectic COVID-19 enforced schedule. The Suns have dropped veteran Pearce Hanley and Darcy MacPherson.
St Kilda has recalled Ben Long after his three week layoff suspended, while tough utility Dean Kent has also been called up. Matthew Parker and Shane Savage have both been omitted.
