Namibia Rugby World Cup 2019 betting predictions and free tips

Welcome to our free predictions and odds update for match 37 of the Rugby World Cup between Namibia and Canada at Kamaishi Recovery Memorial Stadium on Sunday, October 13.

UNFORTUNATELY THIS MATCH HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO TYPHOON HAGIBIS

Bookmakers have pegged this match as perhaps the closest match-up of the pool stage, with just 0.5 points separating them at the handicap line.

That seems fair enough. The teams have played twice before with Canada winning both times. The first time Les Rouges won 72-11 in France in 1999. But in the most recent and much more relevant clash, the Canadians fell in 17-14 with one try apiece in Wales in 2014.

This is the only pool match either team would have had serious designs on winning as they came up against giants New Zealand and South Africa and well-established Italy, so we are sure both teams have kept some of their powder dry for this one.

Namibia v Canada tips RWC2019

Namibia to win at $1.93

We see this as a flip of the coin, so why not try to the (marginal) outsider? They have been slightly more fluent than the Canadians in attack, while both teams have been remarkably similar statistically in defence. It’s the Africans for us in a thriller.

DTH van der Merwe to score a try at $1.80

The South Africa-born winger is Canada’s greatest try-scorer but has not registered a five-pointer in the tournament to date. He won’t want to leave Japan without crossing the stripe.

Namibia v Canada prediction

Namibia are chasing their first ever World Cup match victory. They have lost all previous 22 matches in five World Cups but this could be their time, with so much to play for and a real opportunity against Canada, who are ranked just one position above them at 22 in the world. We think Namibia will rise to the occasion and win this one in a battle for the ages.
