NRL Friday: Wests Tigers v Broncos, predictions & odds, round 10, 2020

Brisbane Broncos v Parramatta Eeels tips, predictions, best bets, NRL ROund 3 betting

Wests Tigers host the Brisbane Broncos on Friday night in a match that will reveal plenty about each team’s finals hopes.

These teams met only once in 2019 with the Wests Tigers prevailing 22-16 after trailing 8-6 at half-time at Suncorp Stadium.

This is not the most enticing fare for a Friday night, but the earlier match looks one-sided when the Melbourne Storm play the Gold Coast Titans at Sunshine Coast Stadium from 6pm.

The Broncos finally notched a win against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs last weekend after six defeats on end but they will need to string together a good block of form before we start to trust them again.

Wests Tigers have lost their past couple but have at least been competitive in losing to the Panthers 12-19 and the Rabbitohs 10-18. They are at home and will go into this match as deserved favourites.

The Broncos should get a lift with the return of firebrand young forward Joe Ofahengaue from suspension. Veteran Ben Te’o has been named to start in the back row for injured skipper Alex Glenn.

The Wests Tigers have really mixed it up with five-eighth Josh Reynolds lost to suspension. Coach Michael Maguire has dropped halfback Luke Brooks to the bench, with Benji Marshall named at halfback and Billy Walters in the No.6. The Tigers regain promising try-scorer Tommy Talau on the wing in place of Reece Hoffman, while Russell Packer is back at prop at the expense of Ollie Clark.

Wests Tigers v Broncos free betting tips

Below our NRL betting expert has highlighted his free tips for the Wests Tigers-Brisbane clash.

Broncos +5.5 points/match total under 37.5

We are still a little gun-shy about the Broncos but love the fact that Ofahengaue is back to add some punch to the pack. Also we are concerned about how the Wests Tigers will cope with the shake-up in the halves. They may take some time to gel.

David Nofoaluma to score a try

The Wests Tigers winger has been in superb form this season as one of the most damaging runners in the game. He also has the knack of getting over the line so we will back him in against the sometimes suspect Broncos defence.

Wests Tigers v Broncos prediction

This is a really tough contest to line up and we won’t be betting too heavily on the outcome. On form, Wests Tigers have the Broncos covered. But we are going to take a leap of faith that the Anthony Seibold-coached Broncos have finally started to turn the corner. We don’t think there will be a lot in it but we are tipping the Brisbane Broncos to win by four points.
