NRL round 13: Dragons v Broncos

Welcome to our Penrith Panthers v Wests Tigers match preview, prediction and odds update for their NRL clash at Panthers Stadium on Saturday, August 29.

This is the final match on NRL Super Saturday, with the earlier matches pitting NZ Warriors v Newcastle Knights in Tamworth from 3pm, and Cronulla v North Queensland Cowboys at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium from 5.30pm.

Penrith have won eight out of their past 10 matches against Wests Tigers.

The Panthers won the the most recent encounter 19-12 after coming from 10-4 down at half-time in a spiteful clash. Joey Leilua was sin-binned late in the match for a blatant high shot on Panthers match-winner Dylan Edwards.

Wests Tigers are in ninth place on the NRL table, four points behind eighth-placed Cronulla, and need to cause a massive upset and win this match or their finals chances are all but dead.

It won’t be easy, with Penrith on a club-record winning streak of 10, and they have lost just one of their 15 matches this season.

The Panthers have had a great run injury-wise but this week they lose boom second-rower Viliame Kikau to suspension and livewire hooker Api Koroisau (calf). Mitch Kenny comes in as hooker, with Billy Burns coming onto the bench.

The Tigers have received a boost with star young hooker Harry Grant (knee) ready to go again. Jacob Liddle moves back to the bench.

Panthers v Tigers free betting tips

Below our NRL betting expert has highlighted his free Penrith v Wests Tigers betting tips.

Wests Tigers/Penrith half-time/full-time double

The Panthers have been quick out of blocks often this season, but we’ll take a punt that Wests Tigers will surprise early before the home team is too strong in the end. This bet requires Tigers to lead at half-time and the Panthers to lead at full-time.

David Nofoaluma more tries than Josh Mansour

This is a head to head bet with Unibet which requires Nofoaluma ($3.50) to score more tries than his opposite number Mansour ($2.70). There is also a third option for them to score the same number of tries which is paying $2.15. Nofoaluma is a try-scoring machine and if the Tigers are to to be competitive he will most likely be scoring.

Penrith Panthers v Westst Tigers prediction

This will be a free-flowing affair which should be good to watch even for the neutral fan. Wests Tigers have been a little disappointing of late but they can play some exciting football. Grant is a huge inclusion for the them, but it’s still hard to see them ending the Panthers’ streak overall Our Panthers v Wests Tigers prediction: Panthers by 6 points.
