Pakistan v South Africa betting tips, prediction & odds; 2nd Test preview

Babar Azam is in doubt for the first test against New zealand.

Welcome to our Pakistan v South Africa betting tips, prediction and odds analysis for the 2nd Test at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from Thursday, February 4.

The first Test in Karachi went to script with our followers cashing in as we tipped Pakistan to win and Fawad Alam to top-score in the first innings at juicy odds. The home team won by seven wickets in a convincing display.

Fawad delivered another Test century and now we have the chance to play up our winnings as the teams clash in the second Test on a pitch which traditionally offers more assistance to the pace bowlers.

The Proteas were spun out in the opening Test as veteran leggie Yasir Shah and left-armer Nauman Ali combined for 14 wickets. Nauman had a five-wicket hauled in the second innings in what was his debut Test at age 34.

The loss was the eighth in a row for South Africa in the subcontinent, and they go in as heavy underdogs again, rated around $3 chances, with Pakistan around $1.80.

Nauman Ali, despite his heroics on debut, is expected to be make for paceman Haris Rauf to make his Test debut. Meanwhile, South Africa are expected to leave out left-arm spinner George Linde and include a seam-bowling all-rounder in Wiaan Mulder or Dwaine Pretorius.

Pakistan v South Africa betting tips

Our cricket tipsters have examined the odds and found several Pakistan v South Africa tips for the second Test.

Babar Azam man of the match

The Pakistan captain has played only two matches at this ground, with two innings, and he has scored a century in both knocks. He also will be less rusty than he was in the first Test. Babar Azam missed the two Tests on the New Zealand tour with a fractured thumb after being struck in the nets but he should be cherry ripe to lead his country to a drought-breaking win against South Africa.

Shaheen Afridi most wickets for Pakistan in 1st innings

The young left-arm paceman has a great record at this ground and with the conditions expected to favour the quicks expect him to strike early. He looks good value at around $4.25. The spinners may have more of a say in the second innings.

Pakistan v South Africa prediction 4/2/2021

The Proteas will certainly be wiser for their first Test in Pakistan in many years but they also discovered it’s a difficult place to tour. This match should be a lot closer but we also expect the Pakistan batting line-up to be a lot more effecting than in Karachi, where so much was left up to our man Fawad Alam. Our final Pakistan v South Africa prediction? Pakistan to make it a 2-0 series win and leap above South Africa in the ICC Test rankings.
