Scorchers v Renegades BBL10

Welcome to our Sydney Sixers v Hobart Hurricanes v Perth Scorchers betting tips, winner prediction and odds analysis for Game 52 of the 2020-21 Big Bash League at the MCG, Melbourne, on Sunday, January 24.

This clash against the high-flying Sixers is just about the last roll of the dice for the Hurricanes, who are languishing in seventh place.

That is not to say their position is hopeless because if they can win this match and then their final regular-season encounter against the Renegades at the MCG on Tuesday they could finish as high as third.

BBL Match 51: Thunder v Strikers betting tips, preview

The Sixers are a tough opponent. They have lead the league for much of the season and have added Moises Henriques into their line-up already. They could also welcome back prolific T20 wicket-taker Sean Abbott for this match. Star left-arm paceman Mitchell Starc has been cleared fit to play but would likely only come back for the finals, if he plays at all after a tough Test campaign.

The Hurricanes are likely to add Test captain Tim Paine back into the line-up after they regained Matthew Wade for their most recent clash against the Scorchers.

Sixers v Hurricanes betting tips

Our cricket tipsters have examined the odds and found several Sixers v Hurricanes tips for Sunday’s BBL clash.

Dawid Malan top scorer for Hurricanes

It’s time for Malan to show why he is ranked as the No.1 T20 batsman in the world. Malan has been good averaging 28 this series without ever really taking a game by the scruff of the neck. This is his chance on the wide expanses of the MCG where his ability to score to all parts of the ground will be suited. The Hurricanes need a big one from him.

Hurricanes most runs after the first six overs

With the likes of Wade, Short, McDermott and Malan, the Canes have a powerhouse lot at the top who should get their team off to a flyer. Sixers have Josh Philippe, who has been one of the stars of the tournament, but he carries a lot of their hopes for a fast start. Hurricanes are value at the $2 v the Sixers’ $1.80.

Sixers v Hurricanes prediction 24/1/2021

These teams have met once previously in BBL|10 in round 1 when the Canes scored a resounding win off the back of a brilliant 58 from Tim David and fine bowling from Riley Meredith and James Faulkner. The Sixers have gone from strength to strength since and the Hurricanes’ much-vaunted top order batting has not been great lately. It’s time for them to step up. Our final Sixers v Hurricanes prediction: Hurricanes to stay alive with a win.
