West Coast v Port Adelaide betting tips, prediction & odds; AFL round 3 preview 2021
Welcome to our West Coast v Port Adelaide betting tips, prediction and odds analysis ahead of their AFL round 3 clash being played at Optus Stadium, Perth, on Saturday night.
The Eagles are narrow outsiders to win this clash, priced at $1.94 with AFL bookmakers, while the undefeated Power are at $1.90 to win. The line is at 1.5 pointers which will struggle to attract many punters.
The Perth-based team defeated the Gold Coast in the opening week of the 2021 AFL season, before succumbing to the impressive Western Bulldogs in a close game last Sunday.
The Power have been the buzz team this season but in reality have beaten very little, with easy victories over North Melbourne and Essendon. The AFL world will get a much better grasp of their premiership credentials after the task in the West.
West Coast has included prolific midfielder Luke Shuey, for his first game of the season, speedster Jack Petruccelle and Jarrod Brander for the clash. They have dropped Brendon Ah Chee, Nathan Vardy and Xavier O’Neill.
The Power have included boom youngster Connor Rozee and forward Todd Marshall, after the talented pair overcame injuries. They have dropped veteran ball-winner Tom Rockliff, Kane Farrell and Miles Bergman.

West Coast v Port Adelaide tips
Our AFL betting expert has scoured the markets and found some free West Coast v Port Adelaide tips.
Tri bet – either team to win by 15.5 or less
This West Coast v Port Adelaide clash is expected to be close, with both of these teams in premiership mode in 2021. The Eagles are exceptionally tough to beat at home, but the Power would feel like they have something to prove, with many tipping them for the flag. The tri bet option, available at TopSport, is paying $2.50 for either team to win by 15.5 or less.
Over/Under betting – take the overs
We have seen the increase in scoring in 2021 and both of these teams have the cattle to take advantage of it. It is going to be intriguing to see how two top-end teams go about scoring. We’re tipping with the likes of Josh Kennedy, Oscar Allen and Charlie Dixon on the field, there will be plenty of goals. Check the weather before placing this bet, but it should be paying around $1.90 to beat the 167.5 total game points in the over/unders betting.
West Coast v Port Adelaide prediction 3/4
West Coast get the nod in this one, largely because of their home ground advantage and key forwards. The Bulldogs loss stung them, but it was close and their opponent was red-hot. The seasoned Eagles will be hoping to play their best footy later in the year, but they will know the importance of knocking off the Power here. Port Adelaide well-and-truly has the talent to win this, but it’s just too hard picking any team to beat the Eagles on the road. Our final West Coast v Port Adelaide prediction? Eagles by 13 points.
