AFL round 16 premiership odds and fixture update
Round 16 of the AFL kicks off on Saturday, September 5, with a game between North Melbourne ($7.50) and Port Adelaide ($1.09) at Metricon Stadium.
There are a total of eight matches in the round, which concludes with the Brisbane Lions-Gold Coast Suns derby at the Gabba on Wednesday, September 9, as the footy frenzy continues.
The match of the round pits the Western Bulldogs ($2.30) against the West Coast Eagles ($1.62) at Metricon Stadium on Sunday night. The Eagles are right in the mix for a top-four spot, while the Dogs need to win to have any chance of taking part in the finals.
The earlier match on Sunday from the Gabba between Geelong ($1.30) and Essendon ($3.50) is another important contest in the make-up of the finals.

AFL 2020 premiership betting update
Defending premiers Richmond remain at the top of betting to win the AFL premiership, despite losing talented youngster Sydney Stack and Callum Coleman-Jones to 10 matches after the pair got into a fight outside a strip club.
The Tigers are around $4 with most outlets and do not play again until Friday, September 11, when they face fellow contenders Geelong, who are second favourites for the flag at $5.
This week the AFL announced the 2020 grand final would be played at the Gabba in Brisbane, with the home-town Lions also well in betting at $5.50. The Lions held off Collingwood on Friday night to end the Magpies’ chances of finishing top four before the finals and their premiership hopes now look remote. On the other hand the Lions seem almost certain to finish in the top few times and have a saloon run into a home grand final.
The Eagles, who had hoped to have potential home grand final at Optus Stadium in Perth, are out to $6.
Meanwhile, Melbourne’s chances nosedived with their loss to Sydney, moving from $21 out to $67, and they will need a lot to go right just to play finals football.
