This should be a classic encounter between two teams quickly building a significant rivalry. The Magpies will want some small measure of revenge for the Giants ending their premiership dream last season, while the Giants are too talented to simply slip away this season. We are a little surprised the Magpies have already been elevated to flag favouritism given their last two matches have been a draw with an out-of-sorts Richmond and an easy win against an inconsistent St Kilda team which was an also-ran last season.
