Brisbane Broncos v Parramatta Eeels tips, predictions, best bets, NRL ROund 3 betting

The Brisbane Broncos once again feature in the a Thursday night match, this time at Central Coast Stadium against the exciting Newcastle Knights.

The Broncos went some way to restoring credibility with a fighting 20-18 loss to Manly Warringah last time, just a week after their humiliating 59-0 loss to the Sydney Roosters at home.

The good news for Broncos coach Anthony Seibold is that this week his team regains star young forward Tevita Pangai jnr after suspension, but that is offset somewhat by losing centre Kotoni Staggs to a hamstring injury suffered at training. Veteran Alex Glenn is expected to move to the centres.

The Knights were well in their match against the Storm last week, despite the 26-12 scoreline indicating it was one-sided. They have been strengthened by the return of second-rower Lachlan Fitzgibbon from a hamstring injury.

Newcastle should have the inside mail on how the Broncos play given their new hooker Andrew McCullough played 260 matches with the Brisbane team before moving south earlier this season.

Broncos +6.5 points/match total over 36.5 double at $3.95

The Broncos will get a real lift from last weeks’ effort against the Sea Eagles and the return of Pangai jnr. The weather forecast is not great but both these teams have had defensive issues and we can see them covering the match total.

Either team wins by 6 or less (inc draw)

We can see this match going down to the wire. While Newcastle are travelling a lot better at the moment, the Broncos showed their best is difficult to combat last week. We don’t expect a blowout here.

Newcastle Knights v Brisbane Broncos prediction

This is potential turning point in the seasons of both of these teams. The Knights will be desperate to show their form since the restart is no fluke and that they are genuine finals contenders. For the Broncos they need a win to reignite their season. Their pack looks a lot more fearsome for this match but they need their back line to find something extra. The Knights in as thriller for us.
