Port Adelaide v St Kilda betting tips & prediction; AFL rd 8 preview
PORT Adelaide can solidify their position on the top of the AFL ladder if they can overcome a tricky fixture against an improved St Kilda at Adelaide Oval on Saturday. Welcome to our Port Adelaide v St Kilda betting tips and prediction for their round 8 AFL clash.
Port Adelaide produced a Houdini-like escape last round, when star small Robbie Gray converted a set shot after the siren to defeat Carlton, which sent them a game clear of the Brisbane Lions at the top of the ladder.
St Kilda have shown signs of improvement in recent times, having won three out of their last four, including a 23-point victory over Adelaide on Monday night. New Saints coach Brett Ratten would be happy to be sitting in seventh position, given they have so many new faces in their line-up in 2020.
AFL betting sites are expecting an easy victory for the home team, with the Power installed a short $1.39 favourite to defeat the Saints, who have been priced at $3 by Unibet.com.au. The line for the Power vs Saints match has been set at 16.5 which will be a tempting proposition for Saints fans.

The Power have been boosted by the inclusion of Brad Ebert, Mitch Georgiades and Riley Bonner, with Justin Westhoff dropped and Ryan Burton and Steven Motlop forced out through injury.
The Saints have recalled Jack Sinclair, Matthew Parker and Nick Hind, with injured pair Josh Battle and Ryan Byrnes and the omitted Jack Lonie making way. The Saints will also have added motivation with forward Tim Membrey set to play his 100th game.

Port Adelaide Power v St Kilda Saints tips
Our AFL betting guru has viewed the odds for some value and found some value Power v Saints tips for Saturday’s game.
Dan Butler to kick the first goal of the game
St Kilda recruit Dan Butler has been one of the recruits of the season, and he would want to be for us to bet on this market. Eagle-eyed St Kilda fans probably know Butler has kicked the first goal three times this season. He just has a knack of slipping under the opposition guard early. While this is a market we make no promises about, Butler offers great value at $14 with Playup to score the first goal. Butler to kick 2+ goals, a feat he has achieved in five of the Saints’ last six games, is also tempting at $3.50.
Robbie Gray to score 2 or more goals
While Robbie Gray has had a slow start to the year, his confidence will be sky-high after his match-winning cameo against the Blues. Gray is paying $3.70 to score 2+ goals, or $8.50 to score three goals. We’re also tempted to bet on big Charlie Dixon to score goals in this one with the weather predicted to be clear, but remember the Saints are well stocked for key position defenders with Dougal Howard or Jake Carlisle his most likely opponent.
Port Adelaide v St Kilda prediction 25/7/2020
Port Adelaide deserve to be favourites in this game, but we think the odds for this one are a little bit too much tilted in their favour — remember it took them until the last kick of the day to knife Carlton. Meanwhile, St Kilda have a thrashing of Richmond and an easy victory over Carlton on their resume in the last month. The Power has had an extra day’s rest for this one, which has us not making any outlandish predictions, but bet on the Power with caution. Our final Port Adelaide v St Kilda prediction? Power by 14 points.
